No, not true. CA acquired MY data by getting permission from my friends not from me, which btw went against a policy FB put in place in 2014.

Except that didn’t happen. Obama used FB to acquire data on willing participants who signed up. CA took data from people who didn’t agree to have it taken because their friends filled out a “quiz”.

Large corporations pay Congress to ensure laws like this don’t exist. As long as Citizens United remains on the books it’ll continue to be that way.

The problem is that data was collected without consent.

Well you wouldn’t expect it to be. They’re hiring young people to market this “quiz” while not really knowing what the were doing with the end product. At least that’s what I assume. Gotta make everything look on the up and up to avoid suspicion.
