Right or wrong, the reason people want 500 range EVs is to offset the excessive charging times. Selling people something that doesn’t meet their needs (whether they be realistic or not) is practically impossible, so you’re left with two choices if you want to make sales: you change nothing and convince them the

This is exactly what they’ve done. They’re also banking on governments effectively forcing people to buy their EVs (news flash - you can’t just force people to buy a product they don’t want or can’t afford). Its all comical.

That’s why we shouldn’t let uninformed regulators drive these types of decisions.

It’s going to be even worse this time around, in my opinion. Not only are the companies so dependent on high-margin vehicles for the majority of their profits, they are dumping enormous amounts of money into EV development, which also tend to be expensive and sell in even lower volumes (for now), yet yield far less in

Much sooner than most people think. The average age of a car on the road today is 12 years old. These new laws are going to have practically no effect on reducing emissions because not enough people will be buying new cars. Regulation will become more restrictive.

Make no mistake, Erik is not an enthusiast.

The very same.

It’s Eric. I’m convinced the only reason he still has a job on the site is to stir people up with this incompetence and awful takes.

ND because overall condition of this example and the slushbox. But if this had a manual and was a little cleaner I’d say NP all day. These have my favorite factory rear seats of any car.

Chill out.

Spoken like someone who has no idea how the auto industry works.

Great call on the 1-series, but I would actually search out a 128i. Last of the naturally aspirated inline 6's and way less problematic than the N54 (or early N55) in the 135i.

This is pretty awesome. Porsche continues to be one of the only glimmers of hope in the hellscape that is the future of the auto industry.

Your opinion is bad and you should feel bad.

My point exactly. The other boob that replied doesn’t get it.

Once the 911 goes pure EV, then I think we can officially say it’s over.

FCA (stellantis) has pretty well proven that anything beyond a mild exterior refresh is non-value added for the majority of customers.

They haven’t become popular because they’re pretty expensive and difficult to manufacture. I agree, I think they would fit the needs of pretty much everyone who has a short commute but wants the ability to take longer trips and not worry about range anxiety.

Exactly. Which is why this the whole shift to EV is pretty pointless from a environmental perspective considering what is going to need to happen to make it work. I’m in 100% support of taxing the bloated monstrosities people deem necessary today.
