I see. So sounds like it’s possible in theory, but unlikely to happen because of the delicate balancing act large-scale economies are notoriously incapable of. Thanks for the detailed response!

Too bad it will have the same powertrain as the EV Blazer and Lyriq.
I see, great explanation. I figured this wasn’t a typical “recession”, but didn’t know what to call it (I’m not well-versed in economic terms). Perhaps this is ignorance on my part, but wouldn’t curbing demand (i.e. people stop buying things) help companies catch up and build up inventory, thus lowering prices?
Maybe this could be a chance to just, you know, stop buying things we don’t need? If people stop paying crazy markups, prices come down. If people stop spending, inflation goes down. I know it’s not as simple as all that, but we gotta start somewhere.
Welcome to the future folks. Those of us dreading the new world of EVs will be patiently waiting for your apologies.
250 miles of range, $25k out the door and it would probably sell well. Almost there...
In my mind, you would have to be insane to not consider this over a model S.
Cause home ownership has such a bright future.
Amen
That’s because deep down, most politicians don’t give 2 craps about these green initiatives they’re pushing. They just the love the optics they bring.
The jokes write themselves.
Not as unpopular as you might think. Honestly, would not put it past Biden to do something like this if he get’s a second term. Doubt he would do it before the election, though.
Agree to disagree. I’m not a die hard Porsche fanatic, nor do I frequent the forums. I just did a lot of research when I was considering replacing my E36 with a 996 (before prices got crazy). From what I recall, Raby has taken the stance that the IMS issue is overblown, but my memory may be incorrect (that’s not to…
I think Jake Raby at flat 6 innovations would seriously disagree with you on that, but what does he know? I’m not going to argue that BMW doesn’t have some serious issues when it comes to their bearings, but that’s a couple thousand dollar repair job if you follow a preemptive maintenance plan.
If your engine has bore…
Totally fair opinion and decision, but the bore scoring issue on 996's make the bearing issues on some BMWs seem like child’s play.
All those words and not a single mention of bore scoring? For shame, Mr. Hyatt.
But where’s the money in that approach?
Don’t worry, privately-owned personal transportation will be a thing of the past in 30 years if companies get their way.
Except a lot of the cool cars Japan builds are not sold in large quantities in Japan...
Please, wake me up from this hell.
