Totally, and I get that he meant it as you describe, but first, I don’t think it’s necessarily true (depending on how one might define the terms), and second, if it is true, then that speaks to what is wrong with K-12. My job is not to prep people for a general job market.

To paraphrase a website I love, the only thing pundits love more than bipartisan commissions on debt reduction is a flag draped coffin and a grieving widow.

“Today, college is what high school was...” Cuomo said in a statement.

Buckle up.

Gotta take your plans down to the county and get your permit together or you end up with some crazy fence lines and everyone is pissed off...

How was Matt Damon’s recent role an example of whitewashing? It was a role written for a white actor, at least according to the director.

I’m from the Left Coast and teach at UK now. Every time I think, “Well, gee, I might be able to live here long term,” this state does something stupid that puts me back on the job market again.

I would add to my flippant comment: I don’t think Trump’s attitudes and beliefs are too far out for many Republicans. The “problem” a lot of people have with him is his behavior. If he were a little more polite about all of the terrible things he believes and does, the media would eat him up. As the L.A. Times

Have you met us?

Meh. I’m not opposed to anything you’re saying, but as a faculty member at a historically white, public university, I’m less concerned with what happens to John Calipari’s recruits and more worried about the fact that four-year graduation rates for black students are around 40%, 20 points lower than the graduation

I had the same thought reading this: minus the food and water, this is basically an inferior version of what I bring camping.

I have guns at home, but when I take road trips, I keep a nice rattan “walking stick” with me. It has some range, it’ll break someone’s arm, and I know how to use it.

That’s a gif I don’t want to see. Ever.

God, I really wish I had the power to make heads explode. Just for 48 hours...

My spouse and I had the same experience. Originally we weren’t really keen on any gifts at all, but then both sets of parents insisted on a registry. It was also helpful for grad school friends who could get us a cheap gift that we needed if they felt like it.

Guilty. I’m at a point where I need time more than I need additional money. (Knocks on nearby wood.)

What’s your business model for that? Do you charge yourself admission to your own day? Do you have an agent, or a cat, who takes a cut of your salary? Can your significant other claim a producer credit?

I guess Trump himself.

Every Breath You Take. The One I Love. It’s a long list.

Perhaps one difference is that Schumer owns her shape and lives in the real world, whereas Trump claims he’s the healthiest POTUS to hold office, which is just obviously not the case. He is the one who brought his own fat ass into his larger war with reality, and he deserves our scorn and ridicule.
