I read through all the replies and can’t believe this wasn’t posted! I’ve loved this car ever since I saw it on all the car mags and drove it in NFS II. I present, the 1996 Ford Indigo!!!

Most of the greats have already been covered, so I’ll throw in one of my favorites - the Chevy Code 130R. Small RWD coupe? Yes please.

Alfa Romeo’s B.A.T. trio. Everything else is fighting for second place.

All these replies, and not a single IDx. Simple, small, inexpensive, RWD coupe with actual room for people and things. This is the car that could’ve turned the tide for Nissan and help mold them into an affordable enthusiast brand, but they chose to become a subprime credit company instead. They teased and actually

Adding to that I believe that the Chrysler ME-412 out performed Benz top model the SLR McLaren that it shared the V-12 with & Mercedes wasn’t having it. Also justifying the cost to produce the ME-412 didn’t financially  make sense at the time. Axe it got.

Test Drive III, baby!

The Firebird III is still the definitive dream car for me.

MAserati Birdcage from 2003. Seriously pretty and cool.

I present the GT90:

Had to scroll waaayyyyy too far to find this.

The Lamborghini Estoque is beautiful. Massive opportunity missed to bring the Estoque out as their EV instead of that grotesque monstrosity that is the Lamborghini Lanzador

Toyota FT-1 Concept. Beautiful. But its transition to production using a BMW Z4 chassis and Toyota having to work around the hard points by using tacked on body panels and fake vents was a huge disappointment. Furthermore, the MKV Supra’s proportions are a bit... wonky compared to the concept. They do look very

People who buy a Rolls-Royce do not care what it’s fuel economy is or how far it’ll go on a tank.

Be prepared for the onslaught of “you’re a short seller” comments.

I heard that the Supra was written out of the last season of Transparent because it couldn’t keep its rod bearings to itself.

Wacky, stuck-on plastic tacky. It’s looks are a hit or miss. Fake vents abound and overworked body lines crowd its deceptively small frame make it a hard miss for me. It NEEDS someone to load it into photoshop and blast it with the blending tool to smooth it out all over.
At least Toyota didn’t shove a whale shark maw

It’s not just about losing the magic of anticipation/hype. Like most reboots, it truly was a half-hearted attempt. The failure is in the product, not the expectations. They literally called it in for another manufacturer to deal with it, it’s not even a Toyota.

The Supra was a rolling hype machine. The current one could not possibly deliver on the same metrics as the original. The original was fighting against 911's and the like but was priced in their range. the new one is priced in a weird middle ground where you can get a luxury brand and looks with power but not a hard

The Supra is the automotive equivalent of Arrested Development: everyone was very sad when it went away; years of pining ensued and a cult-like status was achieved. Then the excitement, anticipation, and salivating at the mere hint that it may one day return. When it actually arrived most people were disappointed

This is a good take. I don’t think many people shopping the Cayman, Boxster, Z4 etc... would consider the Supra. And I surmise the converse to be true as well.
