I bought a Porsche 356B. Granted that wasn't the reason, but the timing was almost spot on.

@Jim-Bob- Living in Project House Hell: And upped the payload IIRC. I think this was at the expense of "oxygen" for the "crew(proles)" in the pressurized cabin.
@Mr.Anansi: I am the man with no name. Zapp Brannigan.
@LandofMinos, In Soviet Australia, internet censors you: I know! I have rebuilt the same Mk.III Golf twice now, and it is very easy to work on.
@LandofMinos, In Soviet Australia, internet censors you: Apparently a lot of people don't agree with you, and the VAST majority just buy new axles every time they need a CV joint.
@Nick: I've parallel parked this on more than a few occasions. Granted, it is about the size of a Ranger Extended cab, but it is still way more manly than the Raptor or the Wrangler. What does it thirst for?
Hm, this means the bell housing has been adapted.... This needs a large displacement V8 and some different wheels.
I really hope this car has a GermanAutoParts.com sticker on it somewhere. That would make my night.
@Piloter: Not at all. That's what I would do. I would also chase lawnmowers, kids in Power Wheels and I would set up fields of action figures to run over.
This is a three way tie for me, depending how you look at it.
My hatred for the last gen Saab 9-3 is immense. I won't even begin here.
This thing screams "highway on ramp" all day. I would wind up dumping money into it to make it stiff, and make the interior nice though. G-bodies flex like nobody's business.
@RamblinReck89: For the first part, the real divider is RevoKnuckles. The Focus has them, the others don't. It handles awesomely stock. Evo magazine likes to kiss up to it more than they kiss up to the Pagani Zonda. That has to count for something.
@Darnell's Auto Wrecking: It's not a Kyalami, it's the Ford engined brother: the DeTomaso Longchamp. It's got a little more in the guts department, and a little less in the balance department.
If Mazda re-released the RX-7 Spirit R as a new car in this country with updated fascias most people would be fooled into thinking it was a new car. The FD RX-7 just looked so ahead of its time. Hard to believe it debuted in the early nineties!
My friend's dad has a Sunbeam Alpine, one of the later cars with the less exuberant tail. It is a simply stunning car in person, and has miles of charm his son's MGB simply cannot match.
I was kind of hoping for a reverse swap... a seriously built 2002 motor in an E30, but this is still freaking sweet(if more common).
