The best vehicles would be some that are legal in the countries people are fleeing to. That way they can bring and keep the car after reregistering it at the destination.

Cars will be outlawed and you’ll be required to own a pickup.

I know car regulations bother even a lot of car people who aren’t mindless chuds, so I want to tell a little story. It’s something that happened today, in fact.

It sort of happens that way right now. Go car shopping as a family. All the cars are 5 star rated today. Shoot, 18 years ago, when I last was shopping for a new car, a 3 star rating was considered a death trap and I didn’t want to be near it.

Forward Control Jeep (legs are over rated anyway)...

Anyone building a rocket car is a pussy unless they use solid fuel rockets.

Crazy answer: A triple diesel engine pickup truck with a 6 inch lift installed at the factory. I mean, the EPA’s going to get a gut punch, too, so might as well make a FerdRamChev F-Teenthousand Denali with a 6.7 Power Stroke up front, a 6.6 Duramax in the middle, and a 6.7 Cummins bringing up the rear.

If I can’t get a Suzuki Jimny, what even was the point of destroying the American experiment?

I would 110% insist I’d absolutely buy one of these, then end up buying something else when it became time to do so.

If they toned this down by about 15% and priced it competitively with the Bronco and Wrangler it would sell like crazy, enough to put a serious dent in the sales figures of those two models.

Can you go to Thailand without coming back with drugs in your system?  I assume it’s in most of the food and water supply at this point.

All the modifications in the world are not going to change that fact that you have 2 weeks of vacation and they’re already booked out for a family vacation, the nearest race track is 6 hours away and where you live, there is no wilderness camping or rock crawling or BLM land anywhere near where you live.

5 Spokes wheels in white is the best combo ever.

Having a 1st Gen Tundra, all the 4Runner and Tacoma wheels fit it. People buy a new machine and immediately upgrade their wheels and tires. I Buy the new take offs, run the tires bald and sell the rims with the bald tires rinse and repeat. Currently running TRD sport rims from a 2017 Tacoma had the TRD off roads

I agree.

Counterpoint - due to a mechanic buddy being between shops, I had mounting and balancing machines in my garage for a couple of years. It is nasty, dirty, hard work to mount and balance tires and I will cheerfully pay $100 on the relatively rare occasions that one of my cars needs tires to NOT have to do it myself. And

People who never plan to buy an EV: “Missed opportunity. If it had 550 miles of range, I’d be all over this and pay in cash”

Damn, my commute is unfortunately 524 miles.

This is a non-starter for me. I need to regularly haul my camper, boat and 3 ATVs uphill through the Rockies 1200 miles each way twice a day.

Just talked to them.  Out of the $19 a month units but offering a $39 a month lease on 2025 Leaf S which they do have available.
