There is likely to be some grace period before they won’t renew registrations. Besides, if they test it, it’ll come out clean, right? I mean, that was the whole basis of their defeat device.

I suppose you could, and it would probably depend on the state. States could easily prohibit registration renewals for vehicles that are known to not meet emissions standards.
I’m guessing you won’t be driving 532 miles without a bit of a break somewhere. Just plug it in at a Supercharger while you grab a bite to eat. Tons of people do it... 532 miles is nothing.
Obviously as a concept. Most of the stuff would not be in there for a production car. teh removeable radios, seats, and hose among other things would not being in there. But givn that you don’t really need the whole dor for side impact protection, the “open door” would be fine but not a common feature.
God pontiac was so ahead of the game on car designs. I mean that is the definition of a soft roader cross over.
Thanks for the reminder on how “cool” I thought the 90’s was.
I love seeing how shit the 90s thought the future would be.
Fiat is taking the already-outstanding 2016 Mazda Miata, adding some turbocharged Italian power and mixing in some…
So that’s how Boxsters are made...
The F35. :)
It’s late in the day, so cats on dynos means this to me:
We should have a “Top 10 Smokey Yunick cheats”... He was a master of what the rule book didn’t say!
There are links to the various studies, man. Why guess when you can just read? No, they did not “hack the code.” They noticed that the emissions figures on the dyno vs on the road were drastically different. VW used inputs such as steering wheel angle, throttle position and engine speed, etc. to determine whether the…
The best possible scenario is a minor impact to performance and mileage, but increased wear on something important and expensive. The worst case is a big performance and mileage hit plus increased wear on something important and expensive. Either way, I wouldn’t want to own a TDI right now...
EGR only helps part-throttle efficiency on gasoline engines, which restrict air, to restrict nitrogen oxide formation.
Well, I have one, and I am not at all happy about this. And you bet I will get it fixed because I don’t want to drive around spewing mass pollution. If there are big hits to performance or fuel economy VW will have a class action lawsuit on their hands.
You are confsing Assault Rifle , an actual military term for selective fire rifle with magazines and intermediate cartridge; with Assault Weapon, a broad term made up by legislators which is any firearm with a specific number of random features they deemed scary.
