Too true about Applegate, Oliver. I miss the days where the third (or fourth) slot on the judging panel went to a choreographer. I don't need a celebrity to explain the "emotion" of a routine; break down the footwork, the synchronization, the little cheats that dancers from each style use to survive in unfamiliar

Meh, I chuckled. With all of the "attractive people joining show you don't watch" newswires of late, we could use more Shalhoub on our TVs.

Careful, son. You come at Swan Princess, you best not miss.

Gordon's gentle intensity when scrambling eggs is the most terrifyingly zen thing I've ever seen.

Did you see the poor guy slumming it on American Ninja Warrior? He had to share billing with that no-talent hack, Warped Wall.

MTV's Awkward. High school comedy, dating/friendship drama. The original showrunner used to comment on A.V. Club's reviews.

Great minds…

Even if you loved Big Bang Theory, why would you torrent it? It airs on at least 4 channels every day!

Aww, what about Kerry Butler singing her heart out?

Per Nephew's point, Courtney has faced 5 elimination challenges, but all 5 featured at least 10 chefs (safety in numbers). There have been 4 elimination challenges with a small number of chefs — Leslie was in all 4.

True, skimpy lettuce is also frustrating. There needs to be enough for you to sink your teeth into.

I can see that. But when I'm looking for balanced coverage to match my cool crunch, I top my burger with . . . coleslaw. Apple slaw, technically.

My #1 rule for cheeseburgers? Hot and fresh. It has to be made to order, and the meat shouldn't rest too long (looking at you, steakhouses).

* drinks too much Levity; Archmage steals his Hand of Vecna *

Clone High's debut seemed to coincide with the era of "every high schooler pirates stuff, cuz it's not THAT illegal, right?" A friend burned us a bootleg DVD of three random episodes, and we were hooked.

Thanks for the recap (and the clips!), Oliver.

One might say this brash-and-rebellious Agent Mundo goes where he pleases.
(Come on, Fat Neil. This joke should be right up your alley.)

IF there's a comparable influence metric, it's YouTube stars vs teen-centered TV stars. Movie stars produce content too infrequently to be trendsetters. Meanwhile, I suspect that Ariana Grande, Stephen Amell, Lucy Hale or Dylan O'Brien are more popular than any of these YouTube personalities.

Do out-of-the-box chefs like Francis ever win reality cooking shows? The producers must hate it, cause their brands don't sell. When Justin Warner won Food Network Star, they stripped everything avant garde out of his show concept.

Leslie may be made-for-TV terrible, but the man clearly knows how to grill. First steak frites, now Kobe beef and ahi tuna . . . yum.
