Cost. IIRC, the Las Vegas Convention Center loop (the three stations there and possibly the Resorts World one also) cost $47 million and was paid for by The Boring Company. I think the next lowest cost option was like $200 million or something.

The S Pen pops out of the Galaxy S24 Ultra like Old Faithful.

“Only some have a heat pump. It’s a really recent addition.”

“all because Porsche forgot to use the spell check.”

I drove a TX500h about 3 weeks ago, and while nice, I would rather save $20K and get a fully loaded Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid, if I was looking for a 3-row SUV from Toyota. The Lexus has nicer interior materials, but that’s about it. Same powertrain, same overall features.

I test drove one (GT-Line) a couple weeks ago, and it was alright. Given that it still uses CCS and they are asking $75K for it, I would hold off on buying one. Especially since you can get the top trim Telluride for about $20K-$23K less.

my dad decided to buy a 2008 Forester XT Sports to replace his 1986 Ford Mustang SVO and he was shocked by the comparable performance between the two cars.

“When Subaru introduced the Forester as its first crack at an SUV, it flew under the radar since it still aligned with Subaru’s history.”

I thought that was clearly implicit in my comment, but I guess not. The original functional purpose is not the point for a lot of the people who buy these types of crazy expensive stuff. Once again, it’s not about the item itself, it’s about the investment.  The investment becomes the function for a lot of these

“I will never understand why the only people on earth who can buy these cars are in such a death-cult with “resale values.””

“So you can buy a Carrera GT for around $1.5 million, but you definitely can’t use it.”

Yes, at least Tesla vehicles’ brakes light up when you lift your foot off the accelerator.

“I’m not mad that they partnered with another manufacturer, but why BMW and not Lexus or even Honda?”

In my opinion, it’s not that great looking (especially that angle in the article’s photo; the rear half of the car looks extra... bulbous). It’s also not a Toyota, it’s a BMW; it’s not even a “partnership”, it’s just a straight-up BMW.  And on top of all that, dealers suck balls.  The “market adjustments” over the

And these are shipping with CCS, not NACS, right?  So if you buy one now, you’re stuck using an adapter for the life of the car, since everyone is changing to NACS over the next 1-2 years.

Or those who boost their actions.

“a.) devices that aren’t supposed to be listening (Phones, etc) definitely are”

Devices are always listening, but they’re not always recording.  Why can’t people understand that distinction?  They have to be listening in order to be triggered by the wake word (Alexa, Siri, Google, etc...).

“A new 27-inch touchscreen tops the dash”

Gatekeeping what? What is being gatekept? (I don’t think that’s a real word, but I’m not sure what the correct form in that context would be.)
