Lots of displaced frustration being aimed at Zack here, so I just wanted to say that I think is this review is spot on in every detail.

I think he’s wondering if it’s really the kind of insipid, [insert reference here], Bazinga-esque joke it appears to be or if there’s some substance to it that he missed.

I think Ted’s optimism is genuine, but optimistic people also experience heartbreak and trauma. We’ve already seen that Ted’s way of dealing with challenges (like being separated from his wife and son) is to keep smiling and power through until things reach a crisis point. He is perhaps trying to be strong for the
