I really liked that adaptation too :) On the other end of the scale, I couldn't watch Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy primarily because it was too faithful. I've read the book a hundred times and I couldn't sit through it all again.

This is so great and well done for pinpointing fandom as being deeply conservative. "It's completely faithful to the book/original movie," should be a complaint, not praise.
