My MBP 15 Retina works just fine as does my Asus ZenBook. Not aure why this silly Mac vs PC contest.

Confused. You spent 1500 on your MBP and another 400 to 650 for the new SSD drives? Why not just spend the 2000 for the 512gb version? Penny wise but dollar foolish....
