I had a 1996 VW GTI VR6 5-speed and that car was the hottest hatch I’ve ever had. Black paint, black interior and dark tints. I loved that car!
All of it!
I knew something was up, but it only got more expensive for me. I would routinely take the train from Albany to NYC via Business Class. If I booked a month out, I could get a Business Class ticket for around $60. Now, even trying to book 3 months out, it is $107.
I was only able to get mine up to 116mph... once upon a time in Mexico
Lot of bad reviews on that dashcam. May be the reason it is discounted so heavily.

“The total nationwide capacity of Walmart’s theoretical solar power generation is 11.1 gigawatts. That’s about the same as twelve large coal-fired power plants, and enough electricity to provide power to 8.325 million homes.”
That is 1 fine automobile
I’ve done many reverse donuts in my younger days. My 91 Chevy Caviler put up with it pretty well. The Dodge Caravan, not so much. CV joints were clicking like a bastard after.
I was in New Orleans at the end of Mardi Gras for a month for work. The locals said that you had to visit Bourbon Street, but once was usually enough. They were right. I spent 1 night down there bar hopping and going up on a few balcony’s. Had a few hand grenades’, and enjoyed it, but they were right, once is enough.
I take the train once a month from Albany to NYC. Faster than driving. Plenty of time to get work done or catch up on downloaded Netflix. Train routinely hits 90-100 mph. You can buy beers at Penn station or stop at a liquor store and grab a fifth.
When 2nd gear blew out on my 96 VW GTI I ran it up high in 1st and skipped right to 3rd... Drove it that way for about a week until I was able to get it into the shop.
Why does the front end remind me of this?
Who knows... It just does!
Tip your stewards on the first drink. I’ve done this a handful of times and only paid for my first drink. They are appreciative, and they remember you.
Not my parents but my neighbor when I was a kid. Traded in a Dodge Daytona Shelby 5spd for a minivan. I’m still a little mad at him for that...
your comment made for a good read, and made me chuckle a bit.
If I had the time, money, and place to do it, I would cut the back end off, and turn it into one of those jetta/truck hybrid. The VR6 motor is an awesome motor as well. Plenty of mods to be had.
