It is a fantastic bad movie. It is so damn rewatchable too, I can drop in at any point in the movie and watch until the end because it is having so much damn fun with itself. It is honestly one of my favorite movies

The one thing I know about this series is that the main character is someone who is very much caught between the two worlds of Anglo-Saxon England and Viking England and both a part of both and neither, which actually could provide a new perspective since Vikings follows people so wholly in one world or the other
I have a feeling we might experience some serious cognitive dissonance seeing a slightly older Alfred and what I imagine is a more historical fiction approach to the time period
Agreed that would have made more sense if Lagertha tried to occupy the vacuum that the revenge invasion left and offed Aslaug then
Hey we should decide what is next. If you want to do The Last Kingdom its 8 episode seasons, so 4 episodes seems appropriate
I guess he was a boat builder? Maybe? the record for him is a little more scant than the other ones it seems, because he is in an Edda about the settlement of places and he was the first person to seek out Iceland and settle it. (other vikings had been blown off course and found it before and apparently there were…
Geez I forgot about Ecbert and Lagertha being a thing too.
I think they found a better way to balance Aethelwulf's true belief piety, with his competence, and distinguish what he is good at from what his father was good at. I also think Ecbert's overbearing competence earlier boxed him in too much. Once Ecbert starts failing, Aethelwulf can emerge as someone who actually can…
Yeah it was definitely Odin telling everyone that Ragnar was dead. And since the season ends with Bjorn going back to the Med it sounds like this was just a brief foray to set up next seasons plot.
Crossings:
I finished catching up on Vikings to discuss with Scrawler. I will do so below.
Man it's not a conspiracy theory, that motherfucker can see!
I mean Stevie can see, so why would that be surprising?
the trial was speedy, this is the appeals process, no right to a speedy appeal. but the answer is basically they have two more chances, an en banc review of the entire circuit and then the Supreme Court.
He wasn't found innocent, an evidentiary issue was overturned on appeal basically. typically this means they could retry the case but instead the prosecution is re-litigating the evidentiary issue. Double jeopardy only attaches for when the jury finds you innocent, and the jury found him guilty
The Witches are the ones I haven't tried. Rincewind doesn't work for me. I like the Death books that i've read though.
Yeah that is dangerous, basically have to start all over again
at least doing that means you won't have forgotten everything
at least now you have an excuse for the next time i bug you about how far along in it you are
