Yeah i thought that was a good use of the story in Blinded that the sister didn't know. This show does a good job with its case of the weeks in at least keeping them interesting when really they are just a frame (especially near the end of the season).

anyway i think my point was that his ability to actually choose well is hampered by his slavish reliance to this random formula that he thinks is necessary to keep his star power and thus forces him to accept certain types of movies at certain times

yeah this was back when his choices were a little better but yeah the idea was to maintain a level of respectability and also cash in on the blockbusters. but i think the only good oscar bait he was ever in was Ali (which i really liked)

i read something years ago about how he would choose his movies and it was basically oscar bait, blockbuster, indie, big budget drama, blockbuster, rinse and repeat.
