good point there, Artie just wants to make money in the ways he understands, but even there he ventures into terrible deals like this Armagnac one (which i thought a more overt scam than it was) but was misguided as evidenced by Janice's accounting of how it tastes

Yeah I agree that Tony was very distracted when the Artie situation started and then as it continued he really wasn't getting it saying stuff like "you have to go to his place Artie" like he was coaching a kid. the gloria thing just really fucked with him and it wasn't until artie's comment at the end that i think he

hey what he has is a romantic abnormality so strange it must be hidden from the public at all costs

awww why couldn't it be the other type of mermen with the fish part on the top and the male part on the bottom!

crap that is actually too good

I think Carmela might be closer to a change (and I stand by my very early prediction in like season 2 that she will leave Tony for at least a little bit of time), but I'm not sure Furio is representative of that.

I feel that Tony kicking that shit downhill to the councilman was his first attempt to exact revenge or whatever at the Irina situation, but when that doesn't satisfy him he has to whip him with a belt too.

Punishing the audience does seem like a good take on the show here. As you said this batch of episodes is kinda unrelenting in how it doles out the punishment. And also like you mentioned the humor quotient has gone down as the show has turned towards this. And while I am not one to require humor in my tv, I do

it was funny but funny in a "oh yea that is clever way" rather than laugh out loud funny

Everybody Hurts:

watched some more of Bojack season three and Sopranos season 4 the latter of which i'll discuss with Scrawler below… but a lot later

no

you are thinking of Slipnuts

i don't like to remember it

stop that Mr. Simpson

that explains an awful lot

the funny thing about that was that Jackson didn't even know Lawrence had tried to shoot at him

its funny because i saw that assumed it must be trickier than it was spent a while dredging up garfield's vp, came up with garfield and then went "oh shit no its obviously Johnson"

back in the 90s, I was in a very famous TV show!

that makes it even worse that you forgot them!
