I do think you guys missed the mark a bit on the "Shades of green" question. The point isn't just that we used to be monkeys. It's that when we were monkeys, seeing lots of shades of green was how we detected predators.

I would think the Shadow philosophy isn't Social Darwinism, it's actual not-fucking-around Darwinism. They're not concerned with how individuals do or don't do based on their merits, they're concerned with the survival or extinction of whole species in a nature, red of tooth and claw sort of way.

I don't understand why everyone is so surprised that Abu Nazir is in the country. America is hilariously easy to get into unnoticed, and hilariously easy to live off the grid in if you're smart enough not to use credit cards, bank accounts, etc. This is a massive, massive country, most of it by geographic area is

The timer is great. "What, you were expecting a round number?"

One thing I always liked about Book's death - it means he stays a mystery.

One thought - this is the first episode that really drives home that the Dominion are the Anti-Federation. Up until now, every villainous faction in Trek history have been an alien monoculture of some kind set in opposition to the Federation - be they the Klingons, the Romulans, the Cardassians, what have you. It's

This episode becomes a lot better once you realize that they recast Despero as an Old Testament prophet, and that psychic flame stuff is God.

The Seals killed 4 people other than Bin Laden in the raid. One was Osama's courier and definitely part of his terrorist activities; however, they also killed that guy's brother, the brother's wife, and Bin Laden's son.

I thought that was weird in the episode too.

I rate this episode more highly than you do, for a couple of reasons.

Here's what really got me about Wes' death scene. When Illyria lies to him, she's not just lying by pretending to be Fred. Her words to comfort Wes as he's dying are to tell him not to worry, that soon he'll be where she is, that they'll be able to at least be together in death.
