I switched to healer or tank as my go to after a similar experience in WoW back in the day. My Warlock may have been needed for raids, but I was competing for most other content with the thousands of other DPS. EQOA was even worse in that regard.

At this point many of the games that old have no further active development. And yet, they rarely seem to drop in price to maintenance levels.
Because really, grind was all those games had. They were sandboxes, you were reasonable for the narrative when it really came down to it. Sure there was lore, but quests were often few and far between.
Valve actually wrote about that way back in the early 00's, when Team Fortress 2: Brotherhood of Arms was still a thing. ‘taking six hours to die of a stomach wound isn’t fun’ or something to that nature (was in PC gamer way back int he day).
Go team New Holland! Beat those John Deere pansies!
War games, outside of like ‘This war of Mine’ and a handful of others don’t really try to depict the more personal horror of war or violence.
Sort of. Zombies and monsters don’t show pain so that gore isn’t that bad. the humans do, but I don’t recall the game having very many human characters to begin with, and it’s still horror movie style reactions.
It was so over the top it was silly. Nothing like a brutality that results in multiple skulls and rib cages flying around.
It’s definately unsettling, but comes across more like horror movie gore than MK’s ‘lets make this look as painful as possible’ gore. We’ll see how I stomach it in the final release.
N64 was great as a party console due to a ton of four player games. For solo players though the ps1 was vastly superior.
I love the series, but man the gruesomeness gets to me these days. It was funny back in the 2d era, and the early 3d games weren’t ‘real’ enough for it to really matter.
Given how long the wall would be and how few agents? Seems like they could just post lookouts 30 miles in ether direction and blow though it with a gas powered angle grinder in a few minutes.
An AQ style war effort would have been grand. Let he hardcore figure out the puzzle while the rest of us farm clues in some way.
It’s not her ability to say the right thing, others have been doing that for decades.
I had an old GS500F back then that really got me though things. IT had the gas mileage to stretch my fresh out of college paycheck till I could build a proper savings.
That’s a different sort of corruption though. In large cities major industry owns the politicians, while in small towns politicians own the major industry.
Not only that, there was story/quest leads and such that hinted at that being the first expansion. At some point they decided to do Outland instead and just killed that entire plotline.
Not to mention many small towns are hopelessly corrupt, controlled for decades by whomever owned the ‘big businesses’ in town. Many will sabotage opportunity in favor of retaining control.
I want Regina’s outfit as armor, with male characters looking like one of the guys from the game.
The only downside to the event is this is a full outfit layed armor reward, rather then a individual layered set or better yet a DMC style actual armor set.
