The actual reasons why it cost so much is largely irrelevant to the end consumers forking over of the cash for the game compared to what we fork over today.

They actually were not. I remember going back and playing SMW and being shocked just how short the stages were, and how little time it took to do a proper 100% of the game.

QUOTE | "If you want to sell a game for $60, to the player it has to feel like $200...In 2014, $60 for a game is a little insane." - Creative director Adrian Chmielarz talking about the lessons of Bulletstorm and the problem with prices.

This. We use a lot of python at work because it's quick, easy, and effective. Hell, my biochemist wife uses it a bit for the same reason.

Indeed they do, but not without a ton of hatred from some congress folks heavily invested in the usual suspects of the MIC. Literally billions gets directed to their districts by stuff like SLS or STS, and there is a ton of corporate welfare involved in those projects.

Actually, quite a few hate space X, because it takes money out of their sweet congressional kickbacks and pork.

I agree. Start in the colleges and highschools getting more folks interested in those fields is the way to go.

They were pretty damn scary in the future scenes. Near unstoppable, remorseless, and absolutely brutal.

Oh crap, it's the angles. Oddly, isn't that normally done to make overweight people look skinny? I mean, here, she just looks like a twig now.

Actually, given the way it plays, it's a lot of work. Just like with rockband, you need multitrack masters for each and every song, plus a great deal of time spent on the actual level designs and such.

Actually, Sony may well be involved in funding if it succeeds. A good reason for the kickstarter was to gauge interest amongst their fanbase. If its funded, I imagine they have some big funding from other sources who will be pitching in.

You don't seem to understand what a kickstarter is, how much money sony would want for an ip (think millions), how perks/tiers work, etc.

I get the feeling you've only ever watched a speedrun, or you have a really faulty memory. If you play the game without sequence breaks, there are several times when you have to sort of stick around to watch something go on. The tram, the test chamber, right before the teleport to zen, your capture by the marines,

I didn't say all, I said many. Pre-HL, FPS games were often find the key maze games, like doom, Quake/etc.

This started way before consoles. Half-life basically started many of the tropes that modern FPS follow. Slower pace, linear, story focus, etc.

Why watch football instead of going out to play football? Why watch a play instead of acting it yourself?

They pretty much wholesale copied magic it seems, which is whats getting them in trouble. If you look at other TCG, they often have very unique rules, play styles, etc. About the only thing they have in common with MTG is they are cards, and you get boosters/expansions.

from what i've seen, they basically just renamed many of the actions/types from MTG.

I'm so going to watch the shi!t out of this film.

To be fair, the original release was low key and rather subpar as a transfer. Still, became a cult classic, and eventually Right Stuf released a far superior transfer version.
