This past week, I got a Mustang and an Edge as rentals.

I love EVs and I do think we should work on building up the charging infrastructure to enable a full transition to them, but I do think PHEVs are the way to go for pretty much everyone in the immediate future.
the first year at cota was 175 for GA and it included free parking at the travis county expo center and free shuttles. and i got to see schumacher race.
Don’t know if you know about Kim Illman, his is a pro photographer that follows F1 around. He has a YT channel and had this video. He does say you can find “cheap” rooms on the strip ($1500 for 5 nights). He said room prices are coming down after some sticker shock. He does the most expensive way to see the race and…
I’ve been to the USGP several times now, and I think they’ve done as well as could be expected. It’s a real and permanent motorsport venue. However, the Miami and Las Vegas races seem to nail that “Soundstage” comment. Putting up some fake “yachts” in a parking lot to make it “Miami” and then charging $1,000 for the…
Yes, PHEV cars make a ton of sense for many Americans, particularly those that have times where long drives are required. PHEV big rigs make even more sense. You can be EV for the short haul days and a Hybrid for the long haul days. You don’t need a different truck for different applications.
Like any jalop, I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time playing around with the configurators, and even in like 2015, Ford’s was always the most annoying. Every individual “option” you want, no matter how trivial, was always behind another like $2,500 in “packages” or reserved for a different bed/cab combination. It…
Yup, waaaayyy too much money. I’d love one, even if it’s a lot more vehicle than I need. I feel like electric pickups will be great when they reach price-parity with their gas counterparts, but until then they’re rich people toys.
the number of all-electric F-150 Lightning trucks that the Blue Oval shifted between July and September was down by a massive 45 percent.
Germans come from the Land of Chocolate.
I have a stump on my property and some annoying neighbors on that side.
Hybrids and PHEVs are the perfect machine for RIGHT NOW. The majority of commuter miles covered by a battery w/ the option of gas for longer trips or the occasional time you can’t charge. Hybrids for those in apartments of other difficult to charge places. And like Toyota has been saying for years now, 1 BEV or 100…
As I have said before and I will say it again. If the real goal is to remove as much carbon emissions from personal transport as possible, the best solution right now is Hybrid and PHEV. That does not mean it is the only or long-term solution, but trying to jump right from ICE to EV will prolong the change and leave…
I think this is one of the few times were comment section here actually matches market demand. Short range PHEVs are the best of available technology and would make the vast majority of drivers accustomed to all electric for their daily commutes. They would probably improve the general public’s knowledge on plug in…
If you’re out there felling big ole trees yourself (the minority of wood-burners, who just buy cords of wood in the fall) you probably won’t want to give up your gas chainsaw.
Is it for sale yet? No.
And we all know what that administration did to manufacturer in the US.
not to be that guy but fuck please stop using that word.
There were a bunch of those squat potties when I went to India, including one on a train that was just a hole to shit on the tracks. It was weird at first, but I would definitely prefer them over some of the awful toilets I’ve seen. It’s pretty easy to hose out those rooms, they were at least sanitary most of the…
Maybe I’m overreacting a bit, mostly because they get befuddled by big numbers all the time. And a big splashy number is a useful way to get some attention for the story. But the big number is NOT the story. Such as it is, that’s only in the very last graf, which discusses changes over time.
