My in-laws bought a new Rav-4 hybrid this year. They had it for about 6 months and traded it in on a Highlander Hybrid. They just thought it was too small for them.

The fuel economy thing drives me nuts. It’s worse than an F-150 and had I realized how bad it was I would have bought a bigger truck that I really don’t need. I don’t need to pull a small yacht but I want to haul some stuff in the bed on the weekends so the Taco is the perfect size for me. I’d really like to get it in…
Does it call you brother when you shut the door?
Well I mean GM has been working on coming up with a battery electric car since the 60's with a Corvair conversion and here we are 60 years later and haven’t given that up so why are we just assuming that’s the winner here.
1st Gear: I don’t get why people are so quick to write off fuel cells as a replacement for ICE powertrains. We don’t currently have a one size fits all for fuels in vehicles so why do we think that there is going to be one technology to rule them all going forward? Sure right now gasoline is the predominate fuel for…
My tacoma has a 400W outlet in the bed. It works ok but I’m not sure it’s got what it takes to use as a generator in case of a power outage.
I was thinking more in terms of having that ability for back-up power after a storm. If I buy a generator for that purpose it might get used once or twice a year and you’re rolling the dice on having gas that isn’t bad and occasionally starting it to make sure it runs when you need it. If I can use my truck that I…
I really wanted to like it but I think they took a swing and miss here. I mean it’ll probably be stupid reliable which is great but it looks like it fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. I also think not having the ability to use it like a generator similar to the F-150 hybrid is a mistake.…
I’m mostly interested in powertrain options and what the cheapest trim level to get leather seats is.
Bwoah that’s not cool.
I mean I’ll never own one because I’ve seen what my paycheck looks like every two weeks but if I happened to have an extra $3mil laying around I wouldn’t be too snobby to skip buying one. It looks like the sort of car that I’d have a poster of hanging on my wall in high school right next to Brooke Burke.
If you have to break out a crows foot wrench you’re having a bad day.
The other problem with the Maverick I see is you can’t get the hybrid with awd if I remember right. I was really excited about it when they announced it but when I dug into the details I wasn’t so excited anymore.
I work for Deere. We had a similar policy, went back to wearing a mask a couple days ago. Thanks a lot dumbasses.
Would it be too much to ask to just open the door and let him out....midflight?
I think an actual Redwing store will either offer it or tell you where you can get it done.
Once I learned about boots you could resole I stopped buying ones you couldn’t even if it costs a little more. The ones I’ve got on now are probably going to go get resoled in a year or so.
I think a lot of it depends on your job and the environment too. My boots stay dry for the most part and I’m indoors spending most of my time standing up or sitting not crawling around on the floor. If you’re crawling around on the floor or in an oily environment that’s really hard on boots and will eat them up. I had…
I’m wearing a pair of 6 y/o Redwing metatarsals right now, they’ve been my everyday boot at work since I got them. I’ve got another pair of Red Wing steel toes I wore pretty much every day up until I got a job that required metatarsal protection and they’re pushing 15 years old. The right boots will last a long damn…
