You mut have completely missed the "cheap" part. He's refering to those generic, garbage tablets that are worthless paper weights. The Xoom and Galaxy tablet weren't originally cheap and are still a little pricey.

I haven't had any problems with connecting to any wifi networks. I've used it on several home networks, a bar wifi network, and a friend's Clear 4G wifi puck.
