Again, he's making a side comment but the whole point is about the cheap tablets. And yes, the Xoom and Galaxy perform just on par. They're not as fluid and responsive as the iPad2.

The problem with the explosion of electronic pictures is the watering down of the quality. With a digital camera and frame, photos that normally wouldn't be taken or displayed are not mixed in with the truly presentable ones. Trust me, when I go on vacation I take a minimum of 3k pictures. But when it comes down to

You mut have completely missed the "cheap" part. He's refering to those generic, garbage tablets that are worthless paper weights. The Xoom and Galaxy tablet weren't originally cheap and are still a little pricey.

I haven't had any problems with connecting to any wifi networks. I've used it on several home networks, a bar wifi network, and a friend's Clear 4G wifi puck.

Just in case anyone IS interested in picking up a Playbook for cheap, Buy.com is selling them for $200 too. I hear they make creat paperweight-digital picture frame combos.

I've heard the modern Discwasher isn't as good as the original version. Anyone have both to compare? I've tried the woodglue technique and it takes a little practice to get it right but it works fairly well.

Simply brilliant

They look like nice speakers but I looked up the HR624mk2 and it appears to be $500 each which means one costs more than a pair of the featured speaker.

Wait, Jobs didn't want to change the overall size and feel of the iPhone yet he's more than happy with constantly changing it for the iPod and every other Apple product???

I guess you're in the wrong time zone?!? I'm sure 11:11:11 Central time will be more eventful.

I would imagine it would eventually turn into a monthly subscription but at a slightly higher price. As they continue to include more services and features, their overhead will increase. But even at $10/month, this would be a good deal once they fill in their streaming content some more and include more HD options.

The more annoying thing to me is the static icon for weather. Why can't they update it to show the current temp?!?

Honestly, Apple needs to toss out the look and come up with a new one. It was clean and refreshing years ago but now it's starting to look dated, even with these minor updates.

Okay, I think the shutterbugs are getting a little too serious. Yes, I know picture quality isn't measured in MP. I would hope your average Giz reader would know that too. I would also hope they know a cellphone can't capture the same quality pic that a DSLR can because of the sensor. These topics have been

Machanical shutters are already faster than that too. It's the idea of doing it at 18MP electronically from within a cellphone that I'm referring to.

I'm shuddering at the idea camerphones will be able to match this performance in five years.

Looks like footage from the ol' Dirty Thirties.

It will but it will also send an email notification to her email account notifying her that her position has been looked up. Don't know if FMF shows that too.

Hah, I was just playing Tecmo Super Bowl two nights ago and did the blow trick to get it working. I was too lazy to go grab the rubbing alcohol and Q-tip to properly clean it.
