A euphoriaism?

I’m happy for last of us, but it’s a massive question mark where they go from here. They're going from adapting the universally beloved first game to adapting the brilliant but absurdly controversial second game. And what happens after that?

They'll euphorianise it.

The vibe from the variety article seems to indicate that Levinson is on thin ice. For now, they’re likely going to wait until October when he’s meant to submit more drafts.

We got comments back. I'm so happy about that small mercy I'm happy to ignore typos for a little bit.

It's because Levinson is the sole writer and sole director here. He doesn't use a writers room to even generate ideas. Levinson was also wasting time revamping The Idol even though it was practically finished. The the idol turned out to be shitty, so now nobody knows what to do, but they can't replace Levinson.

The extended Adam Driver role in that film only gets more hilarious as he becomes more famous.

Yes, if you are being paid for something, you can’t criticise it. Yes, he must rescind his financial stake if he wishes to be negative about the show.

Yes, being paid for something that you are publicly attacking, that makes it invalid. There's also the hilarity that Nic openly plagiarised other people throughout his run, and now he's bitter about a couple of throwaway references to season 1 stuff.

Seems like it would be even easier if Nic takes his money and simply behaves in a respectable way. Or better yet, if Nic donates his money to charity. Nic doesn't own the name or the IP. HBO does and Nic is well aware of that. The network can do what they please with it. It's in his contract.

He's been openly known as an asshole from the start. He was openly plagiarising Rust speeches back in season one and dodging any questions over it. Cary isn't an saint himself, but he's also been saying for years what an arrogant asshole Nic was.

He's having an opinion in an asshole way, all while his name is listed as an executive producer and he's getting paid for the thing he's undermining.

They probably won’t be able to, but I’d love if they rescind his token EP credit. Let the man stew and be angry, but not be paid for it.

Did something happen to her?

Sounds the kind of enjoyable trippy version that Charlie Kaufman would write.

For a movie that turns out to be this utterly simplistic, there's really nothing to market. Hence why they've desperately tried to manufacture a ridiculous mystery where none exists.

He's far too old for Bond.

It's a glorified cameo. Just the opening scene. Most of it was in the trailer. Even cavill has about 10 minutes of total screentime.

The logline for the movie was openly on Wikipedia for two years and gave away the entire mystery. It's far, far simpler than you think. Imagine the most basic plot twist, because that's what it is.
