Lindelof does at least seem aware of at a minimum, willing to engage on the matter. It’s also loudly telling that Lindelof had a couple of long discussions with the author about things, and, if nothing else, speaks on his terms. Whereas Cuse is said to only discuss things about the article through his PR team.

It’s amusing to read the contrast that Lindelof could be a jerk and may have been a racist but all involved in the article acknowledges he was at least talented. Whereas Cuse is said to have been both a significantly worse person and a significantly worse writer.

They touch on her at the end of the vanity fair piece. The official line of “She was always a one season character, her drunk driving played no role” has always rung utterly false to me.

No idea if racism was involved, but the actor has said he was genuinely not happy living away from the UK, and made it clear from the beginning he didn’t want to do the role long term. Maybe that caused him to be frustrated. Which is understandable. If nothing else, they really did want him to stay long term,

Never heard about problems with fringe? What happened? Has there been an article about it? Genuinely just curious. I do deeply love that crazy show.

That’s really lovely and wholesome. I enjoyed Luca a LOT for being a really nice, funny film about friendship. Deliberately low stakes but a gentle story well acted.

Why are you so against my describing their clearly bleak and loveless future as a coffin?

One of the best nightmare comedy things in this show has been how Tom will smile and cheerfully take the abuse from people higher up, and then immediately direct his pent up anger and disgust at lesser underlings, mostly Greg.

If you looked at their facial expressions during their final scene and thought either of those people were happy, I really can’t help you.

The thing with Tom is, everything you listed all comes back to his primary relationship with Shiv. He stays loyal to her, to the extent of preparing for prison when he thinks they’re working. When it’s clear she thinks little of him, he drifted over to Logan, but was motivated largely by feeling hurt by Shiv and

Thinking about it more, I could only see Tom being booted if he goes against Matsson (which is highly unlikely) or if he needs to be a handy blood sacrifice for the company.

I could honestly see it going either way. Tom could very well be entirely what Matsson genuinely wants, a friendly sycophantic guy ready to take the fall and do his dirty work for him.

I will forever wonder if maybe ending the series now was partly story related and partly just because they were all getting exhausted by Strong.

My only problem with Strong’s performances now is that we know how completely method he gets. So Kendall’s spiral of endless misery and destruction has felt increasingly uncomfortable, since I can’t stop thinking about how the actor is deliberately making himself suffer.

He survived but he’s forever shackled to Tom for better or worse. Considering he started the series working as a park mascot, he’s done pretty damn well. But being forever in his romantic passive aggressive relationship with Tom doesn’t strike me as particularly nice. But I get the sense they’ll stay as a warped

As someone who has loved Tom from the very first episode, this all made me very happy. As someone also well aware that Tom is a pretty awful person, this made me extremely happy.

Probably thinking they had another artist triumph like Up. Hollywood movies showing up and working at cannes are rare, but it happens, and if you succeed, you get a month of free acclaim from international press to hype the movie. Or you get a month of negative Indy 5 reviews to stress about before opening day.

I won't stand for luca slander! That film was wonderful. How was it a flop?

The av club snarking about a streamer making a technical blunder feels a lot like the guy in the glass house who liked to throw stones.

Levinson was busy on The Idol. And by busy, I mean he was turning the show into a glorified torture porn show.
