It's almost a shame that this show doesn't get as much interest as Game Of Thrones because I really do think it's as successful at bringing gothic horror to a modern, mature audience as Thrones is at doing the same with fantasy. Both the actors and the writer (and Logan writing every episode is definitely one of this

Douglas Hodge has been excellent as Inspector Rusk. His interactions with Hartnett and Dalton - which have often been verbal sparring matches between the actors - would have been highlights in lesser episodes.

I spent the entire episode in fear that Sir Malcolm was going to die. I think that was Logan's intention and I kind of hate him for it because it worked with me. Whether it was hearts being squeezed, ghosts saying their final goodbyes, or a gun being struck out of the hand, I was screaming "Don't die, Dalton!" at my

I agree. I particularly loved the chains.

I've never heard of Bertie Carvel (that's such a British name isn't it?) before, but I'm really impressed with his work as Jonathan Strange here. I'd love to see him in some form of comedy movie after this.

This is, by far, my favorite version of the Will and Hannibal relationship. I love how each man has affected the other (although Hannibal's effect on Will seems to be far greater) and how they make up for their respective absences through substitutes created by imagination or fear.

Wasn't familiar with either of the leads before this show but they're both brilliant. I've also fallen for Horgan, much like I have with Julia Louis-Dreyfus in "Veep". There's something incredibly attractive about naturally funny women….

"Josh plays him as surprisingly composed and gentle"

I'll never get tired of singing Hartnett's praises on this show, as recompense for being quite harsh on his early performances. It's wonderful when an actor can completely surprise you, as Hartnett has done with me over the last two seasons. There's a real underlining sadness in his performance, beneath the "aw

I've not been disappointed with the show this year, or felt that the story has been going around in circles. Things moved slowly last year and the pace has been pretty much the same this season too. And I love the witches.

For some reason, I read this in the voice of Jonah Ryan from "Veep".

As beautiful and wonderful as the shower of blood was, it was the stalking of the three witches through the dancefloor which filled me with the most dread. Their slow, continuous advance on the fixed camera whilst everyone but Vanessa was oblivious, was nightmarish without requiring any computer generated effects or

Agreed. His verbal sparring with Inspector Rusk have been one of the highlights of the last two episodes.

God, I love this movie.

I know a few people aren't fond of the Frankenstein stuff but I enjoy it immensely, and it fits into the show's mandate . Yes, it's not entirely connected to the central storyline of Vanessa and friends versus THE MOTHERFUCKIN' DEVIL, but both Victor and his monster have interacted with - and continue to interact with

Yeah, the Vanessa / "John Clare" scene was one of my favorite parts of the entire episode. Those two are wonderful together.

Did you read the review here on the AVClub which goes into details about why it wasn't "guilty of all the things that Game Of Thrones is accused of being guilty of"?

I think it's definitely a sign of a good comedy script when reading that speech makes me laugh almost as much as when it was delivered on the show.

Kent being called a Nazi Doctor was definitely the funniest moment of the episode for me.

If you mean "League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen", there's definitely some cross-over. I hear they're re-making that movie apparently.
