Cap is a gentleman. He even offered his foes an opportunity to leave before the fight began.

My first thought was ‘great - another reason for people to walk around staring at a screen’.
Depends on how old he was... Or maybe something else in the episode triggered his imagination. When I was 4-5 I used to watch Star Trek reruns every evening. I also watched Sesame Street every morning.
When I was a kid, Star Trek promised this bright future was possible - if humanity wanted it and worked toward it. I wish more of my generation had bought into the premise and worked for the improvement.
I am now sadly nostalgic for the hope I had as a child, that humanity would grow up. Kirk was one of the reasons I had hope. Despite the Cold War there was a pervading sense of ‘we can do better - we WILL do better’ in shows like Star Trek.
Yes. Kirk is the BEST. Always.
no remakes. One good thing about the Star Trek universe - they move on, they do new things in the same universe. While I don’t love every single iteration of Trek, I love that the impulse to boldly go beyond the previous shows. (the movies tried a nu-Kirk and differing timeline notwithstanding, it felt rather…
I was kinda hoping they’d bring Coulson back somehow (he beat death once...why not twice?). I suppose I can learn to appreciate an evil-doppelganger.
Thor and Hulk might be busy doing their gladiatorial galaxy-tour. They’re raising money to help the combatants maimed/crippled in the Grandmaster’s arena. :-)
not all struggles are physical. Just because a character is strong doesn’t mean there aren’t things to overcome. How to use a power. When to use a power. Using a power in the wrong way/at the wrong time - and recovering.
lifts in the shoes, high heels, camera angles - there are ways around height differences if they wanted to hire someone of a different height but needed them to look the same.
James Gunn and Idris Elba? The Suicide Squad is sounding better and better to me.
OK, I see what you’re getting at. And, I agree.
I don’t think Etta would change. Not fundamentally. The trappings would change and the clothing, the job titles - but I think the personalities would remain the same. Diana would still be compassionate and fierce. Etta would still be Etta (I loved her in the first WW movie)
the first WW took place both in 1910 and ‘present day’ - so the second movie, taking place in 1984, is actually part of the first film. :-)
that snort when he starts laughing - cracks me up. He so enjoys his own joke.
me too
perhaps at the time the original article was written it seemed as if A was true. Now, after more information has come to light/people have considered and modified their initial reactions, B seems closer to the truth.
I admit, I saw Captain Marvel last week... and I felt slightly guilty giving disney money. But that was going to be my last Marvel movie. I’m happy I can drop that resolution now that Gunn’s back.
“I do think they could have pulled off GotG without him, as long as they got someone like Taika Waititi to do it.”
