Good job, seemed like a natural!

In Toyota’s defense, GM’s and Nissan’s 4 bangers are as completely pointless. I can only see fleets or someone looking for the absolute cheapest price looking at them. Huge HP and torque advantages for basically no impact in mileage. I’d assume in the real world the results are even closer as the 4 pots will be

How long until the perceived reliability wears off, especially with these half-assed updates they’ve been rolling out? Almost everyone I know with a 05-15 Tacoma has had some stupid little issues. Sun visors falling off, junk leaf springs, water leaking into the cab, dead overhead console temp and compass display,

I doubt it since it’s the same cab and sitting on the floor with your legs stretched out like a small car is a Tacoma trait and not a good one IMO.

That’s worrying too. The 05-15 Tacoma already has pretty poor visibility and this can only make it worse.

I’m curious what the Toyota defenders will say about the engine. They talked mad trash about GM’s 3.6 in the Canyon/Colorado being a peaky car engine, unfit for truck duty despite having more torque at the same peak RPM as the outgoing 4.0. I’m going to agree the updated 4.0 out of the 4Runner would have been a better

Italian? Since FCA’s HQ is in London would it be British?

Where’s Toyota’s recall? The 2nd gen Tacoma uses the same HVAC resistor as the GM 355 trucks. A common failure in both and generally on inspection had burnt wires and/or connectors.

I’m curious what everyone drives that’s sworn off GM. If GM’s actions or inactions scare you off then so should most of the other automakers. Ford, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, etc. have all shown their true colors over the years and don’t really give a shit. Future problems are just that, future problems and corporations

You can get a CC 4x4 Frontier with heated front seats for $32ish, ~$34-35ish if you want leather too.

This is just how accounting works, not necessarily GM trying to get out of anything. The death fund is directly linked to that specific recall, no other recalls are allowed to have money pulled from that fund. They could however create another fund.

Everyone thinking the US is going to see a influx of mini trucks is going to be sorely disappointed. CAFE plays a more important role in the ever increasing truck size than the Chicken Tax does and its not going away any time soon.

I’ve always wondered why a shorter 757 hasn’t replaced the 737. They share a fuselage cross-section yet the 757 had many improvements such as a roomier and quieter cockpit with a much smoother and more aerodynamic nose. Also, with the much longer landing gear they wouldn’t have to compromise the engine diameter and

Ironically, Nissan is as good at selling Titans as the Titans are at winning football games.

Meh, I anticipate this to be non-news. With the location and orientation of the “protector”, I don’t see how it could do anything in the primary load path of an impact down the frame. Maybe a stiffener to help with local buckling at the connection of the front cross member to the frame rail or on the front cross

1st gear: The more of this Takata recall that comes to light it almost makes the GM ignition switch recall look well handled.

Seems decent. If it gets better mileage than the Colorado/Canyon I’d be surprised. Yes it’s a turbo 4 but it’s still pushing around a heavy vehicle which takes power and power takes fuel.

“he owned Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Saab and Isuzu franchises”

That was my first thought. Pull up to a stop light and an ad plays and/or stationary, rotating ads that takes up half the screen.

There has to be more to the lunch break story. There’s no way full-time employees are losing all of their only lunch break.
