it’s a contentious debate in disabled communities about wanting to “fix” the disabilities.

i still wish the president’s speech had a line where he exclaims it’ll soon be gone, like a miracle.  it’d be a good reference, but still age well since it works without knowing what it’s referencing as it displays the hubris and ignorance of the person making the speech.

i do think the flashback structure COULD work, but as we’ve seen, it clearly isn’t. the choice to ground the story on what is ultimately the weakest part of the book, the free boulder part, was a poor choice. Aside from the lack of tension as discussed, it also means rushing through the character’s stories. Nick’s

it’s a very small point, but anyone else notice that this version of larry has the same arc as Joe from Pixar’s soul?

IDK, I found his monologue had too much of a “dirtbag left” vibe where he sides with one group in order to attack another. If he actually cared about the issues he was discussing it might work, but too much of it felt like a tourist who was getting his kicks being able to attack women and gays by crouching it in

late to the party, but some thoughts.

there’s a 50% chance of some kind of “we need to be brave and face the world without our mask” moral, equating covid precautions with cowardice.

i just hope they let faris’ character leave well and not kill her off in a relapse or something, as is the show’s tendency of dealing with characters.

just throwing out my theory, Belos is going to summon Bill. The showrunner worked on GF, alex hisch is a voice, there’s so much triangle imagery and the portal looks eerily similar to Ford’s. Hell, if Bill wanted to be summoned somewhere what better way than to convince a powerful witch he was the spirit of a dead

Is anyone else imagining what Eda would be like if she dated Ford or Stanley? Through inter-dimensional magic doohickery or whatever?

I don’t really agree with the King hate.  He’s a bit one note, but that’s what his character is supposed to be.  It’s not like Soos was that complex a character and King being essentially Eda’s pet makes it more difficult to show him having an inner life.

I could see part of it simply being characterization. Like the reviewer said, Luz is impulsive and not patient enough to connect with people, while Eda puts everyone at arm’s length until she truly gets to know them. That is why the trio haven’t really meshed as well as hoped.  it is giving the writers a lot of

so like the “my leg!” episode of spongebob, except the whole show?

to sort of go off the reviewers thoughts, a big issue is that luz as a character is being pulled between the titular owl house and the magic school. Both are large enough to represent a focal point for the show and having them compete only hurts the concept. focusing on the owl house and it’s a show about luz learning

this is one of those unpopular takes, but here goes, jerry is better than rick. he does household work that would normally put him in the “stay at home housewife” archetype of adult cartoons, but marge never got shit on like this. hell, lois never got this kind of crap.

maybe it’s me, but now seems like a bad time for stories about how society is being dragged down by inferiors and unproductives, not that there’s ever really a good time about it.

Did Jimmy lose custody of the kids? we didn’t see any of them this episode, which seems strange considering we saw Jimmy’s home for the first time.

This was on marge tbh, you can’t treat a dog like that and not expect it to get mad.

can we PLEASE stop having christmas specials (in May, i guess, because that’s quarantine baby) where a dog is almost euthanized?! This shouldn’t be too much to ask, but with the Doug Christmas special we’re already at two (at least) and that’s two too many.  i mean, did anyone else find this episode really stressful?

the vampire hunters need to do more recon before going out on a kill!  at least know how many potential vampires are in the building.
