The Unreal Engine was the cause for their 15 billion dollar valuation. Fortnite is a sliver of that in profits. The Unreal Engine is THE most successful engine there is.

This right here enforces why some companies dont like to have user reviews on site. Its scummy, serves no purpose, and only enforces the arguments against them.
Yep, we had rules regarding resolution, FOV, input devices allowed, etc at every tournament Ive ever been to. granted, its been a few years...but those things should still be regulated.
Then they should set FOV/Resolution requirements for the pro servers and competitions and disqualify/perma-ban anyone who tries to circumvent that. Settings should be the same for all players in pro/tourneys, barring any special things needed to accommodate handicapped players.
Why wouldn’t exclusivity be the driving factor? Most game sales for new games happen in the first year. They know that MOST of the gamers worldwide will buy the game regardless of what launcher it’s on, and they can take in those sweet sweet sales at a higher rate for a full year.
Hey, since you dont seem to know a ton about shareholders and their rights...Share holders are NOT just given free rights to company data, other than high level sales numbers or financials pertaining to their investment. If I own 40% of Facebook, Im not entitled to know who is liking certain things, I cant get…
Its listed on the Windows Store as releasing in Sept too*
Yes, everyone is doing it...so the argument that somehow Epic is bad for doing what everyone else does is moot.
I can also say its EXTREMELY hard to get data on customers of a company you are just a shareholder of. You would need to disclose the reasoning, check legal barriers, etc. I deal with that on a near daily…
That dancing (she was supposed to be possessed....did the spirit think it was trying out for X Factor?)! I didnt know if I should write that in my original response because i wasnt sure who would get it. Glad someone did! There was the big guy with the armor (her brother Incubus) but that was minor.
Even Windows itself does it. It stores it locally and in the cloud, unless you specifically turn it off (and even then there is some doubt as to whether its really off). Smart phone apps are even worse in that respect - Twitter scans for other installed apps on your phone - but I digress...ill stick to PC. Tracking…
probably some more...but that argument could be applied to Origin, BattleNet, any game sold outside of Steam.
Publishers are trying hard to make as much as they can off of releases...which is why so many have opted for their own launcher. Epic offers to give more back to developers who dont have or dont need their own…
Plenty of them gather info related to other apps. What apps are running, where youre located, any other conflicting apps installed, etc. Even apps like Spybot Search and destroy check for other conflicting apps. There are many that do this.
I understand the concept of a holding company completely. I also understand…
TENCENT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. They are not a controlling partner, they are not part of the chinese govt. They are a holding company...plain and simple. Epic is in no way obligated to share data with them.
Tracking is done by Steam, Google, Origin, Facebook, Instagram and many more. They use tracking pixels and…
Youre right...it was Epic that announced it. My mistake there.
The hate its getting is ridiculous and the small group of whiny fanboys blowing Steam and ignoring the exclusives and “whaaaah anti consumer” behavior it has had are worth correcting. Not that their thick heads will absorb any of it...but I provide facts to be sure people on the fence arent following the poor example…
Yeah...leto was the WORST Joker. and Suicide Squad was awful (but mostly because of the villain...she cant act to save her life.
Its not spyware. At all. The tracking pixel thing, the searching for install paths, and the friends list thing were all explained through many sources (inclusing the programming subreddit and Epic themselves) to be nothing big at all. Tencent is also not the Chinese govt. Tencent is facing some of the same…
Mtros publisher announced their sales totals from EGS. Not sure if Ubisoft had done the same or not.
Epic has cross pay between PC’s and consoles already. Division 2 on Uplay and Division 2 on EGS can play with each other just fine. Hell even BFBC2 was on Steam and Origin, and they can play against each other as well. That wont be an issue.
Platform fragmentation isnt happening. The cut for devs is good, and in no…
So basically no story, but all areas open, bounties and “rifts”? To me, that was the worst part of Diablo 3. I played through the story with different characters, tried different builds...but hated Adventure mode.
With Borderlands 2 I played all of the game and all of the DLC 4 separate times, with various characters.…
