Favorite part for me was when the X-Wing pilots both opened up their wings to attack position. Shit’s about to get real... then it kinda didn’t but I am okay with that. This was a means to an end type of episode. They can’t all be like Episode 1 of this season.

My head canon is that they’re from Phantom Squadron given Filloni and Pablo Hildalgo’s age/body types align more with the Phantom Squadron that flew at the Battle of Jakku than that of the young recruit pilots of the rest of the New Republic.

So, mostly filler designed to seriously piss off any obsessive Star Wars fans with arachnaphobia (...because they’d be staying up to watch this at dark-o-clock before trying to go to bed), but I did love how it portrayed the New Republic pilots.

Primarily because they knew they were going to do her body with CGI (because cyborg) but also because they’re adapting a manga/anime to to live-ish action. Few people look like anime characters, particularly a character like Alita. (Although Edward Norton is eerily like Nova, and Christopher Waltz makes a good Ido.)

I liked how the episode went from a gangster movie to the western to basically a Dune prequel. in just one hour.

Can’t wait to play Roblox with one of these bad boys.
