Take it off. You know they’re removable, right? There’s no reason to be dragging a tent around for the other 360 days of the year, except as a sacrificial offering to the fuel gods.

Column shift really does free up a ton of space, while still offering the statefulness of a regular gear shift. They should have stuck with it for the trucks.

The real question is why didn’t they just move the gear selector somewhere else, like onto the dash? Seems like a rotary shifter on the dash would’ve been a simpler idea. But I assume that Ford truck buyers don’t like rotary shifters, so that’s why they didn’t do that.

It is not “impossible.” If we had strong national leadership and started immediately with a 100% requirement for masks in public, we would be looking at very few cases. Unfortunately, this is America and no one can be told what to do. This is a respiratory illness. Wearing a mask reduces the risk of a positive person…

Half the reason I like the GR Yaris is because it’s a proper 2-door hatch. Whatever “hot” Corolla we get is guaranteed to be a 4-door, which instantly kills my hype levels.
