Thanks for the info. I didn’t know about the temperate restrictions on remote started car. Still, I feel like that a car with the AC running for 10 minutes at 72*/medium is going to be more comfortable than one with the remote operated umbrella mentioned in the article.
Aren’t remote car starters around the same price range? Running you car on idle for 15 mins doesn’t use that much gas and then you get both A/C in the summer and Heat/Defrosting in the winter. I took a quick look and they have half mile range (3000 ft).
I guess you don’t get a write an article on Gizmodo about a new…
Google made a game called “Chrome Racer” that works across multiple devices back in 2013. You can still play in now if you open up multiple devices to the Chrome Racer website online (you can search on Youtube for video of other people playing it)
I live in Mountain View and drive past that spot almost every day. Speed would be the difference between a swerve/close call and a crash. If speed wasn’t a direct factor in why the crash happened, it was still definitely part of the reason the crash was fatal (along with the gore rail now having a water barrier to…
If it actually ends up working (i.e. the customer gets a reservation and the business gets a booking) that seems like a great solution for both parties. I’m pretty sure both hate wasting time making/answering those calls.
I agree that Elon Musk has virtually no special knowledge of anything outside math and science. However, I would disagree that Neil deGrass Tyson is some like of “science-only nerd.” Dude grew up as in the Bronx in the 1970s. Far from being an Urkel he was captain of his wrestling team and ran a 4:25 mile as a high…
Am I the only on who would be more excited if we had a Lando spinoff with Donald Glover. I remember reading the Lando Calrissian trilogy as a teenager and they felt a lot more fun (of course they basically existed in a separate reality to the rest of the Star Wars EU and so was free from the increasingly convoluted…
Chevy makes/sells fewer Bolts than Telsa is making Model 3s. So either they don’t know how to make a new model profitably, they don’t know how to sell a new model, or they don’t know how to design a new model that they can build and sell profitably.
Actually, back in the day G1W was a pretty long term lifespan based on r/Dashcam forum on reddit. Most said it last years, but I saw a few people said that SpyTec sent them a replacement unit for free if they died, sometimes even if it was outside of the 1 year time frame. My suction cup mount died recently and they…
Dashcams are even worse than action camera in terms of becoming low-margin commodities.
Three years ago, I bought a $60 dashcam with 1080p, I’ve had running every day in those three years... but I’ve only used footage from it once (when someone sideswiped me). Why would you pay more for a “GoPro” branded dashcam? You…
Uber is particularly bad.
Can you think of another corporation that illegally obtained the post-attack medical record of a someone allege raped by one of its contractors to see if it should discredit her. This information given to all C-level executive and nothing was done to the person that did this until months later…
Man that’s a scary looking. I’ve been warned about this by old-timers on the ski lifts (who refuse to lower the chair bar)... but I never thought it would ever happen on a modern chair lift.
Still the chairlift wasn’t “possessed by Satan.” It’s called gravity. Initially when the motor fails, all the people on the left.…
Right, and even though already already legal and common practice to do. Just to be extra nice, Wikipedia always gives a heads up with all the sites that it links to (IMDB, US Census Bureau, NYTimes, Library of Congress) and any site that it takes excerpts of content from. /s

The side effect of that I’d that he gets a bigger “kingdom”... and a lot more money. It’s hard to justify a high compensation when your company is struggling with only five employees versus one that is doing ok with twenty employees.
I mean really, the basic idea of a curling is not different from golf (I think both sports originate from Scotland). You take an object and try to get it closer to a target far away than your opponent. Both seem like pretty decent things to do a few hundred years ago while you are enjoying a pint of beer at the same…
Gimbals are a specific kind of stabilizer, the other major category being counterweight (which is cheaper and generally less preferred). However, 99% of the time when someone says “GoPro stabilizer” they are talking about a handheld 3-axis gimbal (there are 2-axis and 1-axis variants, but they are generally crap)…
When was the last time you checked? Feiyu (and some other brands) have been making sub-$200 gimbals for over around two years now (that’s when I bought mine)
I don’t know why they choose to do 360° video as I don’t think a ski racer every looks behind... or even to the side really. A 180° 3D setup would seem like a much better choice to give a better sense of distance.
Pray for Andrew Liszewski... he only has months to live...
