I recently acquired a manual VW sportwagen AWD and opted for the manual, a conservative decision as I still haven’t owned an automatic car in 20 years of car ownership.

I actually work where this happened, It’s a dog and pony show, trust me, the cream of the crop from that group weren’t crushed. Those cars being crushed, including that Lambo (engine fire) are probably write offs to begin with. Plus a bunch of 996s, those should be crushed regardless.
People that call the E36 the worst M3 are the same people that think that, regardless of anything else, more power equals more better. I’ve never owned one, but found the E36 to be an absolute blast to drive. Plenty of power to have fun with, fantastic handling, great steering/shifter/brake feel; it was a car for…
That’s neither here nor there. People who have that kind of money to burn on a toy are a minority, period. Not just among Jalopnik readers. For me, as for someone with a family, a rented apartment, a weekend home and a mortgage for an apartment bought on credit and rented out, hardly any car on NPOCP qualifies as a…
It’s definitely an elite minority who can afford this kind of money for a toy, but I’ve been to track days, and seen how many people shell out this much or more on Radicals. This seller only needs one buyer, and there is more than one person in existence with the means and desire for an expensive toy car.
But then you’d have one of the thing that every pensioner over the age of 65 has..... or a fleet of Miatas.
I’m not saying this is a WISE use of money, but its certainly an interesting one.
I have no idea how to price it by itself, so comparing it to a FF GT-M, its about point for point with a little bit better history…
A quick look around shows these to be going for close to $130k - 140k, with unfinished, track-only cars going for about $60 - 70k. Not a huge fan of the wrap, but it’s a wrap, so who cares?
True, the Aventador gained 2 seconds on the Porsche between Brunnchen and the Audi Gantry. That’s likely one or two mistakes by the Porsche driver in that sector. Everywhere else on the track the two cars were close.
How that initial meeting went:
Does the $15k swap cost include the monumental hit to the valuation? While the result sounds like a fantastic machine and arguably a better machine, you are flirting with mustache on the Mona Lisa territory.
If you are going to ruin the resale value, just go all out and stick an LS in there.
The main superpower of the US spec. M3 was the 4.10:1 rear differential. That will make anything quick. Also, the trick for turning a 325e from a momentum car to a fun car is a differential swap. The stock 2.79 or 2.91:1 swapped for a 3/25:1 LSD will turn it into something that can at least keep up with a NA Miata. …
Tires, Torque, and Testosterone: Why Johnny Can’t Drive Straight
Why? So you can hit the tree backwards?
I’m reading a lot of criticism of the idea of autonomous racing online after seeing this. People complaining that without a driver, what is the point, and so on.
I was thinking of posting about how much I liked the headlights and tail lights. Who else does that on a 911? Progressive stuff.
Overload is what that is. Lovely, brilliant, overload.
It looks like the nicest watch ever, and in the best way possible. The level of detail that the put into the instruments are something i’ve never ever seen before.
