Yep, of all the criticisms of the F-35, it is still an impressive fighter. The way the program has been managed, the fact the air force is trying to say it can replace the A-10, etc... is all crap... but the F-35 has some impressive features.

It does have the seeker on it. NY times article got that part wrong. The missile is inert but does have an operational laser seeker for training purposes.
