That’s just your opinion (just like many expressed distaste for the localization’s humor) and it’s a fact that it deviates from the original writer’s intention. Dialogue should have been adapted for american players, not removed. Doing the latter is simply a bad “translation” work.

Also, people are not trying to get a literal translation, but simply something that keeps the same tone and story, while changing things only the japanese public would get.
