I think we lost something as a society when we decided to give up on the concept of selling out. Just because they’re not shilling for crypto doesn’t mean these a-listers aren’t trading on the respect they’ve earned as artists to dupe you into buying something you probably didn’t previously want or need. I’m not

Man, this is all lame.

All I could think of watching the Affleck/Dunkin spot was “Letterman did it first and better with Taco Bell.”

It’s funny, every article I’ve read this morning about the Superbowl ads is like “gasp no crypto ads this year!” You mean like the one Tom and Gisele are currently being sued over? Those crypto ads? Can’t understand why no one’s chomping at the bit to be in one of those this year.

This is basically a recycled ad (with additional star power) from one they did in the UK two years ago.

The Breaking Bad one was awful. Funny is not taking actors and having them repeat old lines but with a product name cut-and-pasted into it. Funny is doing something clever.

“Say. Its. Name.”? Painful.

These were terrible. Pop WILL eat itself. I’ve never seen so much “I took this for the money” in my life.  And these were the best?

Let us take a moment to appreciate when Super Bowl ads were still good. Denny’s “serious breakfast” campaign has probably my favorite commercials ever, especially the one with the cowboys. And, of course, who could forget Nannerpus?

I could tell from the beginning that anything physical would be solely because of the dancers and not Rihanna herself, and when I saw that she was pregnant I could understand why. Anyway, nothing was going to top that shark from the Katy Perry show several years ago, so why even try?

Most of these felt aggressively mid. There’s just too much “we gotta make a really cool SB ad” try hard vibe going on.

Looked like some de-aging technology going on in the Silverstone ad.

“the 16 best”

You included them all?

Well, the world needs ditch diggers, too.

Bryan Cox = Judge Smalls (Ted Knight), not Al Czervik (Rodney Dangerfield).

Goddamnit. Bad enough that he joins the now disturbingly long list of hip-hop pioneers to die in their early 50s, but going just before they were finally able to see streaming revenue from their back catalog is insult on top of injury.

Why did you demote Scott from Fleabag’s Hot Priest to...Attractive Deacon?!! WTF. That’s just wrong and probably blasphemous.

At his best, there was nobody better than Prince, and he was at his best here.

I know you’re trolling. You know you’re trolling. Everyone knows you’re trolling.

It all looks pretty grim other than Prince, really
