I notice that you left out the package switcheroo plot point ultimately leading to the creation of Mordor as we know it.

And, um, water hitting lava causes a cataclysmic eruption? No, it causes steam.

IANAV, but I imagine that while small to moderate amounts of water and fire will create steam, rapidly cooling a huge active volcanic system might cause a slightly bigger reaction. Like, have you ever poured water in a very hot glass?

Basic physics? Snapping the arrow like that’s going to move the shaft in the process.

Mount Doom is created because of a steam explosion is... just fucking terrible writing.

The trouble is that it’s an idea the source material leaves no room for. Sauron’s desire is for ‘mastery over flesh at a blood price so high Adar ostensibly rebelled.

1. Nobody ever opens it to see what it is. As soon as Adar gets it, he walks out of the cottage, says ‘Waldreg, I have a task for you.” Then the Numenoreons attack and it’s not seen again until waldreg is turning the key. Adar must have given it to him off screen there.  Then Adar rides off as a distraction/decoy.

Brie also tagged them both on Instagram and YNB posted something as well. I assume they’ll both be onboard in some capacity, the timing of this announcement could also indicate that they were waiting for DG to be done with Atlanta before starting production.

What I appreciate most here is the follow-through. No more teasing it. They made a joke, it became a real desire, and they’re fulfilling it. Of course I want it to be great but I kinda feel like how it turns out is almost as irrelevant as the platform that launched season 6. If it exists, we win.

I will be devastated if they don’t at least have some throwaway joke or cameo from Ian Duncan.

Barack Obama is scared of him.

The mere fact that you call it that tells me you’re not ready for Magnitude to appear in this Community Movie.

And let us not forget John Oliver, thespian.

Now playing

Just celebrating this news by playing this on loop:

Oh, I disagree. I thought Season 5 had some great episodes.

A lot of people complain about the show’s decline in its latter three seasons, but I attribute that more to behind-the-scenes issues (Harmon getting fired, Chase’s difficult behavior, Glover and Brown leaving, getting cancelled twice, transitioning to a failed streaming service) ruining its momentum rather than Harmon

Glover missed most of season 5 and all of season 6, and Brown missed most of 6. It’d be cool if they came back, but their continued absence is no reason to scuttle the whole thing.

Cool, cool, cool.

Adar isn’t just a fallen Elf but one of the original Orcs known as Uruk, who were early Elves enslaved and tortured by Morgoth in the First Age.
