Yep it’s absolutely bizarre. There was the meme of all the “hot Chris’s” and then suddenly one had to be evil, or something. And there was precious little to justify it. I live about 10 miles from where Pratt grew up, and 10 miles from where “Jesus” Jim Caveziel grew up (in the other direction). Pratt just goes about

I’m positive you’re right about that. I’d be very surprised if Chris Pratt is thinking more about his church’s politics than how attending it makes him feel. It probably does have a youthful vibe that’s more fun than other churches, a local community of demographically similar people that make him feel included.

The internet collectively decided they were tired of Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway at one point too. Sometimes it’s just your turn.

I also think people online are very, VERY engaged, and tend to miss the fact that many people who are part of a religion, a group, a political party etc. do so for fairly superficial reasons.  It’s a laid back church that plays upbeat music, where pastors seem younger and more relaxed than what you normally get.  It’s

I have always found the criticism of Chris Pratt to be lazy AF. People making broad assumptions about who the guy is, based on where he may/may not attend church, as proof that he is homophobic or endorses homophobic views.

No-one has ever been able to point to clear and proven homophobic actions or sentiments that

I never understood the group consensus that Chris Pratt represents some specific Evangelical evil. It sounds like his church operates that way at an organizational level, but HE strikes me as a kind of “apolitical centrist” type: complacent with his privilege (which certainly sucks, to be fair), but not actively

Let’s not go overboard - the lead single off American Idiot was an apolitical ballad (a very good one, of course), the album’s back half is filler, and they adapted it into a jukebox musical. Also, they’re a multiplatinum fogey band. Green Day is the musical equivalent of a BLM Twitter avatar.

Fuck him. It’s the same as Steisand saying the same thing when Bush II was elected. Woefully out of touch. Fucking leave then, while the people under attack for having a uterus and/or not being White & Straight have to stay and fight.

MAN WHO IS NOT A WOMAN, DEFECTS TO SECURE HIS RIGHT TO CHOOSE.

His songs are all sounding the same. Same beats, similar tunes. It’s just boring at this point.

I have to wonder if this will be an actual renouncing of citizenship or if this is more like Michael Scott declaring bankruptcy.

Trump performed so well with Latinos, who tend to be pretty culturally conservative, for similar reasons. If the GOP weren’t such relentlessly racist and nativist shitbags they’d probably have the Latin American vote sewn up.

Especially as it’s $2,350 at the base minimum to leave. That’s just for the form/process and doesn’t factor any other costs into it (having a job lined up overseas, having housing available overseas, the cost of new citizenship there so you aren’t stateless). It’s just as tone deaf as when actors say they are going to

I haven’t got enough money to move to England but...hang on...here! I can burn my older brother’s draft card from way back in the day. There. I think Mr. Armstrong and I have had the exact same amount of impact.

Sing us a song
You’re the Absconder Man
Sing us a song tonight
For we’re all feeling down about the state of things
After SCOTUS stole women’s rights

Glad you’re here to jump in front of the criticism of the millionaire musician.

i mean, his whole PR image at the time was satanism so i’m not entirely shocked they felt a need to double check. BET is pretty damn openly religious for a tv network (not sure if they still do, but on sundays they basically played no music and it was pretty much strictly religious content like sermons).

I mean, I’ll slam Billie Joe for it.

Try 50.

I wish I had the privilege (that’s not a slam to Billie Joe, just a fact) to renounce my US citizenship.
Sadly, I’m dependent on my US salary and unable to afford the time it would take to gain residency somewhere else in able to work.
Guess I’ll just have to stick around and raise some hell!
