That does sound pretty out there.
None of the articles I found quoted that passage directly, and I'm not exactly rushing to the store to pick the book up (especially since this whole thing makes me wonder if it was ever seen by editors). So yeah.

Let's call the whole thing off?

The "masturbating next to her sister" thing, honestly, doesn't seem *that* weird. I've been a stupid horny teen with a shocking lack of regard for others before, I get it.
Though admittedly, I had the decency to cover myself with a blanket and stop doing it when I thought anybody was looking. And I wouldn't put any of

"describing her own actions as 'similar' to a child molester is… what?"

I have a sticker advertising Young Fathers that came with some other disc I ordered. I'd never actually listened to them though. They're pretty decent. Maybe I should put that sticker on something.

Nah, no problem. I didn't take your post as hostile and I hope I didn't come off that way.

There's nothing to get really. I think it's kind of weird that you'd jump to "deliberate anti-humor". Sometimes other people just like stuff that isn't for you, you know?

This is great! Pull the other one!

And of course, you include a link to purchase the album I don't really want, but not a link for the t-shirt that I absolutely need.

Gene Simmons needs to keep his stupid comments in his pocket.

I think you mean you bought your Dawes tickets today and then during the post-Dawes refractory period, you're going to listen to their supporting act, Conor Oberst.

I bought a Powerpoint shirt because of this article.
The EP that came with it is pretty good.

One of those marriages? Is this an established thing that exists in the world?

See, this is one of those things that seems like it should be a "kids these days with their hippity hops and their flying machines" kind of joke, but it's just under-the-top enough to introduce the creeping suspicion that it might be a real example of the kind of statement such a joke would be mocking.

16 Horsepower too. Though they had the advantage of novelty, being a goth-country act.

Poking around the Jade Tree BandCamp has had the pleasant side-effect of reminding me that Turning Point existed. They were my favourite band when I was 14. They're still pretty great.

"What on earth are rally girls like? What are their motivations? Who are they?"

I, for one, am still waiting for Jodorowsky's Ant-Man.

I played a few Sharon Van Etten tracks for my mom a while back. She said they "sound like human whale songs". I don't think she liked them as much as I did, but the description struck me as pretty accurate.
