I'm glad you had a good experience! :)
Thanks for the reply! I am worried about eye dryness after the surgery, but I feel more informed from every account I'm hearing.
The pregnancy thing is a worry for me, too!
Thank you for the reply! It's super helpful. :)
Interesting contrasting point of view. Why does he say that? Is it because of the cost, or the risks?
I'm so pumped from all of these comments. As soon as I can feasibly afford it, I'm gonna go on the prowl for some doctors. :D
Aww <3. If you didn't realize what OP was talking about, that means you're not one of them. Keep sitting with your legs apart, you considerate public transportation person, you.
Holy sh*t. Don't worry, I'm gonna treat this surgery like I'm shopping for a house. Only the best. Thanks for the warning, though!
Lol, you're probably not one of them, but some people who sit with their legs spread like butter usually invade the spaces of the seats next to them. Here are some good pictures:
Thanks so much for all of the (super) helpful information!! You guys are the best.
Awww, you're a great daughter. :D
Hahaha! Well, darn. That sucks :(
I have astigmatism in both eyes. This makes me sad. Very sad. I totally did not know lasik was considered cosmetic. But you know what?? I'm gonna save up for it. Judging from the comments, it is totally worth it.
Aww :/
:D Cool! I'm glad you had a good experience! If you don't mind me asking, did your insurance cover it (and roughly how much did it cost)?
So this isn't a cosmetic surgery, but ever since middle school I've wanted to get laser eye surgery. My eyesight is reaaaally bad, to the point where I'm nearly legally blind.
My friends and I say that, but with the context that it's an anti-'Your FACE' joke. We have the maturity of middle schoolers.
Omg. I just laughed for 5 minutes straight imagining an accidental gender reassignment surgery. That could be a thing hospitals advertise: "Lowest rates of accidental gender reassignments in the county!!"
Actually, it is. I think someone else linked the io9 article on this thread. While the rate of infant mortality for home birth is not "high", there's still a statistically significant difference between home vs hospital rates.
Oh, it's definitely a money thing, combined with the sort of privilege of having large established familial/friend support networks. I don't really know many people who have had home births without consulting with another friend who did.
