Regional burgers are always a risk to expand. I grew up in Illinois and Steak’n Shake was THE burger to have.. Moved to Texas and when Steak’n Shake expanded down here everyone was like WTF these are gross.. They eventually failed in Texas, but it’s my understanding they are still going strong up north.

Burgers are great. The Monterey Melt is my favorite., this coming from a Texas transplant from... Chicago.. The real kicker tho is the Shakes.. Dr. Pepper shake for the win.. Every.Damn.Time.

It’s important to check the property tax value when estimating your payment. If the county has the property tax value at $200k and you’re paying $400k (common here in texas). than those property taxes are gonna double when you buy it and the county reassess those taxes at the $400k price point.
