I wish that driver assistance systems were designed so that they amplified the drivers skill rather than replaced it. Something like GM’s night vision for example. It actually makes night driving safer.

Probably the strangest part of consumer product design is having to design your widget for expected misuse: the idea that saying “well that’s not how you were supposed to use it,” when a consumer is injured using a product in an unintended, but totally predictable way.

Maybe humans just aren’t cut out to use driver-assistance systems.
