Is there a good place to discuss it anywhere?

You mean the latter made the former superfluous, right? With AVClub often covering things days old, it feels the superfluous one, even if it used to be my site of choice, with writers and a community that I inherently trusted through years of interactions.

Man, you’re 100% accurate. The Strange Things parts of Stranger Things 2 weren’t interesting. Steven and Dustin remained the best, and I have no clue why we needed two new kids who did little. The Episode 7 detour gave us nothing new, actually most of 11 gave us nothing new about her at all and was wasted screentime,

Yeah, the newsletter algorithm seems to think that, if you don’t scroll, you are idle and it should try to make you subscribe to the thing it’s tried to make you subscribe to a dozen times already. All it does is move my screen.

I don’t know about the grabbing, but the joke part is basically my dad. He’ll make dirty jokes to anyone. I hate to use “product of his times,” but he’s a quiet guy and, as a kid, learned that this got good responses from people and disarmed them. He continues it now. It often bothers my mom. It definitely creeps out

I always saw it as a wave, and while a wave will crash over land, a raft would just bob above it.

What an awful, terrible, irredeemable human being. And not just because he selfishly decided not to fly on 9/11 and single-handedly save America.

I watched this with my GF the other day. I’m an 80s kid that has a lot of nostalgia for this film, she’s a 90s kid that had never heard of it.

The Raft is every bit as iconic. It’s all most remember from Creepshow 2, and I’d wager more 80s kids know it than anything else listed here.

Man, this was a year I liked a lot. I thought The Man with the Iron Fists was much older - watched that on a tablet on a MegaBus and didn’t really like it much.

But The Raid is fantastic, Dredd is fantastic, and Lockout is immensely underrated fantastic.

He was my favorite correspondant, so this makes me happy.

I skimmed this really quickly and couldn’t quite figure out what you thought he was saving NK from.

Agreed. This wasn’t hard to quote directly. They occasionally quote Tweets directly, even after posting the tweet, this seemed a more useful time to quote.

Actually, I take that back - he thinks he did. He clearly thinks he’s on reality TV and playing solely for ratings.

If only Trump had stayed in his own lane...

Do you make the same complaints when someone is called a bitch?

I can’t think of a single time I was told to smile other than before a presentation or some such. I have seen men tell random women walking down the street to smile more, because they’d be prettier.

That guy is a creepy nerd, but so is Max Landis. Can they fight to the death somewhere?

How often do women do that kind of obnoxious over explaining?

It works much better because it’s eink and much easier on the eyes. Yes, it’s handier to use mobile on public transportation, so I do just that. It isn’t a one or the other thing - they synch where you left off so you can easily switch based on what is convenient. The one with the vastly better reading experience when
