Yeah, it’s unbearable. I’ve watched zero avclub videos. I never will. So few of these need to be videos.

You’re right, I was way too kind to Jack & Jill.

It’s probably the only Sandler comedy I’d consider watching now. Billy Madison will always get laughs from me due to nostalgia, but I’d rather not revisit it, but by the time Big Daddy came out I was so tired of Sandler that Happy Gilmore was just annoying to me, not funny (and I loved it the first time, or numerous

It got me interested in the new film, yes, but I dislike the revisionist look at the old ones. There’s no new light to see them in. They’re awful and he’s awful. That Jesse disagrees actually made me less inclined to watch the new movie by the time I got through the article. Adam Sandler’s good performances are

I’m pretty sure that manchild thinks he’s funny by mocking other manchildren without realizing that, though the motivation is different, the outcome is the same, as is the conclusion that he’s a worthless manchild with no redeeming qualities.

AVClub user Anus Presley enjoyed how they reiterated what was an “extremely brief” tweet, which he also called “straightforward.” Given that this was directly under the tweet, he also said it was “good reporting.”

Just because it isn’t recycling his boilerplate schtick doesn’t mean it’s an example of something positive, unless we’re really digging. In which case, !Rob! wasn’t just Rob Schneider rehashing his lazy ethnic stereotypes and instead acting against them by casting himself as the white guy amongst them, so... positive?

I’m weirdly interested in New York City in the 1970s and would love to write an article about it, but I wouldn’t tell you there were things to love about the street crime at the time. Some things are indefensible, no matter how much you enjoy other elements around it.

Yes, everyone admitted he has talent some directors can tap into, but now we’re defending, or even finding positives, in his performance as Jill?

His Joker is the definitive Joker for me, but then again, I was the right age for it. Batman 1960 reruns were on all the time, and I’d seen the Tim Burton movie in theaters, so I was familiar with the character, but I didn’t think much of him. Or Batman. I loved Batman as a kid, due to the 1960s one, but once I was

Funding for Kuffs?

It is kind of Buddy Lembeckish.

Right?

Given the frequency of shootings, every month is a tone deaf month to release!

Keep it that way. This one was a dumb, fun blast. The following ones were just dumb. Painfully dumb. I walked out of the theater for 6 and 7 honestly angry, and just stopped there.

Agreed. This is my favorite feature and I mention it frequently to friends and family, as it has strong insights on the films he mentions.

Wow. That’s the best description of Twitter I’ve ever heard, and it’s in 180 characters or less!

I don’t know who any of these people are. But I’m old, so I’m ok with that - I shouldn’t know.

I don’t need a transcript, just an overview. I will never watch a video unless it’s something that needs to be video. A cat falling off a desk? I need to see that. A hamburger review? You can do it in text and image significantly more effectively than video.

How the hell is there not an image?
