That’s still a pretty obvious case of the same root problem: Just having a dial for each function is all anyone actually wants, but is the most expensive option.

I’m not sure if it was the point OP was making, but back when EV sales were falling behind projections last year, Tesla cut prices more aggressively than any established manufacturer did. That it kept sales up while getting punished in the stock market is kinda the model for what the Chinese market would want to do to

I’m really just hoping the result of the proceedings is we find out the France family was absolutely fleecing everyone involved with this sport to its own benefit.

I haven’t seen a ton of these in the wild, but like you, at least half of them have been wrapped. I don’t think anyone at Tesla is ever going to realize how pointless of an exercise it was to make this thing out of stainless steel.

Not once you get far enough north. It’s a factory option on most cars, but you’ll only see them show up on the lot with them in the upper Midwest and Canada.

One of the wildest things I’ve learned from construction is just how absolutely insane asbestos is. It straight up defies all the traditional tradeoffs every other material has regarding weight, strength, insulation, rigidity, and cost. The only draw back is, well, breathing it gives you insta-cancer.

Can’t remember where I read this, but apparently this is so fast that the paint would start peeling off the hull during a single transatlantic journey.

There’s a youtube channel i found awhile back that reenacted famous plane crashes in MSFS and then including the pilot communications, either in written or recorded form. Some really crazy stuff in there.

I’m in a similar boat of “disappointed but not surprised”, but mainly because Democrats fumbled this so egregiously. I can’t be the only one who remembers Harris’ 2020 primary campaign lasting like 5 minutes, right? Biden should have gotten out of the way for a primary sooner, because they desperately needed a

3rd Gear: The concept of the UAW running a car company itself...

I think the problem is they either don’t make enough or lose too much on the cheap models to justify building it. Shareholders have a problem with it more than anything.

Not only that, but there is so much historical data on austerity being an absolute disaster that posing it now is complete malpractice. Just because you figured out how to build cars in a tent doesn’t mean you can apply the same degree of cost-cutting to a country.

As someone who has done similar work to a slightly newer Mustang, “racecar for the road” here is an absolute joke. He’s probably making like 450 at the wheels max. All the other drivetrain work is basically just quality of life improvements for the MT-82. Putting a 3.93 in just makes 1st gear unusable, and the new 2nd

I assumed this was a joke play on a mother-in-law, which would have been pretty funny IMO.

It’s because it’s coming from further to the right than the “partially crazy Republicans” and even Trump.  He’s actually on the record saying he has nothing to do with Project 2025, probably because there’s stuff in it that’s too deranged for him to publicly support. The media is just framing the whole thing like it’s

Yep, that was roughly the same punchline associated with the story as well.

Somewhat related: There was something going around last week about how scientists were going to deploy as much AI horsepower as possible to “solve” climate change. The irony will be if it’s actually works properly, it’s just going to tell us shit we already knew: nuclear power and public transit, you morons.

I think Max is only going to win the championship because there is no clear cut #2. Norris might have done it if Piastri and LeClerc hadn’t come on so strong and been competitive, but it looks more like the three of them are just going to cannibalize each other trying to run him down.

That makes even more sense. And yeah, I didn’t hate the looks, but it was otherwise just an abortion on wheels.

I doubt any of the 799 folks who spend about $4 million on an F80 will care what I, a poor person, have to say, but I don’t care.
