Oh, this is a good one. Granted, they are rock-solid reliable, but we don’t talk enough about how a very popular vehicle for sale in 2024 has a 5 speed auto.

If the other 2+ million Parisians couldn’t be bothered to vote on it, I think that speaks volumes to their sentiment on the issue. If nobody else cares, there’s no reason to not give the vocal minority what they’re asking for.
as it will triple the parking rate for gasoline- or diesel-powered vehicles over 1,600 kilograms (3,527 pounds) and EVs over 2,000 kilograms (4,409 pounds) starting in September.
When you make all other variables equal, all of the vehicles on the GMT800 chassis were the cheapest to insure in America for this precise reason. Heck, they still might be.
I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about how many 20+ year old parts GM’s suppliers are still making for these things. This dash is full of parts-bin stuff that I don’t think has been in another GM vehicle for over a decade.
When I was an electrician, the old head that trained me said that they would just leave entire spools of cable energized overnight when they had a theft problem on a site. That would usually solve the problem.
It unquestionably does, but it’s probably a higher priority with BEV’s because the traditional way of adding range (adding storage capacity) comes at a steeper price with BEV’s than ICE’s. Both in terms of literal cost, and efficiency loss of making the car that much heavier.
Thank you! I’ve been taking flak throughout my 20's for wearing this outfit to bars, although the t-shirt is usually graphic in some nature. Figure I might as well lean into it.
I went back and found it, and the only thing the article referenced was demand being down for this entire model line. The interceptor must be propping the whole model line up, I guess.
I don’t even disagree with the sentiment, but by god am I tired of hearing about it.
There was a stretch last year where I swear they weren’t going out until noon.
There was a story on here awhile back that they were shifting all of the production capacity for hybrids on this platform to the police interceptors. I think they don’t have the resources to meet the demand for that market as well as for the Aviator/Explorer. Although I don’t know if that’s strictly an issue with…
It’s probably me. I did not come of age in the grunge era, so I don’t have a good idea of what is and isn’t obscure. Everybody else born in the mid 90's just thinks I’m insane for listening to any of it.
big ups for not going to the more obvious grunge reference: Rats by Pearl Jam.
Sort of agree. Loss of power steering is more psychologically jarring than anything because turning it through all that resistance makes you think you are about to break something.

Losing my mind over this too. Even if you can come up with some arbitrary way to define the sidewall as “not important”, it’s notably the part of the tire you can’t even patch! When it gets damaged you need to replace the whole-ass tire!
Yeah, this is why it being the “least ugly Lexus” still isn’t a compliment.
I don’t have any direct references handy, but I think it’s been well reported he’s been unhappy with the car since 2022, and feels like there’s not enough progress being made. There’s also probably an undertone that Merc will be Russel’s team in the future.
I’m actually going to second Tom’s recommendation on the Altima. I had one as rental in Florida last year, and honestly it was a lot better than I was expecting. The seats particularly were quite comfortable, so much so I wouldn’t at all mind it as a daily. If you can live with the judgement from this community for…
