Why am I starting to expect the end of Deadpool 3, to be along the lines of the end of Blazing Saddles? Just throw away all illusion of a movie, tear down the 4th wall, then have a massive fight over it’s remains.

It’s a nice idea in theory, but do you want another dystopia of crystals and rocks? Because this is how you get another dystopia of crystals and rocks.
Me watching a Zack Snyder movie: “Huh. This has some pretty cool cinematography. Wow. This cast spent a lot of time in the gym. Okay, why does this shot need to be in slow motion? Alright, who thought that line was a good idea? Who wrote this script? Okay, I’m being cynical. Let’s just try to enjoy the action. Hold…
Totally! Like he is going to be a drug lord but like a nice drug lord that doesn’t sell drugs, but like does criminal activity but with a smile! Also if he has a lovable gang on slow moving power ranger bikes it would totally add lore to the character.
Years ago someone on this site suggested a Boba Fett movie idea filmed like Predator, focusing on his bounty trying to evade him. I’d much rather something like that then standard fare ‘badassery’. I guess I’m old and jaded.
Yeah, no one wants to see Boba Fett being a badass bounty hunter in the Western tradition.
We want him teaching Tusken Raiders how to ride speeder bikes, wearing his helmet and using his jet pack as little as possible and absolutely not disintegrating anyone ever.
Whew, bullet dodged!
They don’t care. Everyone seems to be fundamentally misreading this moment in our cultural life: the power elite do not care how they look. They do not care who they piss off. They have decided, to borrow a line, that the line must be drawn here. This far, and no further. The masses must not be given one more inch.…
I don’t want to send good money after bad content. WB has staked the DCEU as dead and put James Gunn up as the new head of content. When James’ produced content makes it to theaters, we’ll talk about spending money on it.
Really, though, Loki and What If...? are the only Disney+ MCU shows that have been given second seasons so far. WandaVision, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and She-Hulk are also currently stand-alone seasons. And, to be fair, Kamala will be co-starring on the big screen, the first of the D+…
Hard agree. Also, I will take Shia and aliens over Willie’s screeching every ten seconds any day of the week.
The opening scene of Temple is amazing. I remember watching a making of back in the ‘eighties and Spielberg said he always wanted to direct a musical so that’s why we got that Anything Goes opening. “Too much to drink, Doctor Jones?” OMG. What an amazing scene. Plus, Indy in a white tuxedo. Looked amazing. So cool and…
Fantastic movie, fantastic cast, fantastic sci-fi.
I’ve loved Kingdom of the Crystal Skull since I first saw it. The hate is way over-blown. Personally, the only scene I’d remove is Shia swinging with the (terrible CGI) monkeys, everything else can stay.
The whole opening sequence of Temple of Doom absolutely slaps.
When I re-watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in May 2021 I thought it was a heck of a lot better than I’d remembered. There are some great set pieces, the story moves along at a fair old clip, and the framing is fantastic. Cate Blanchett is always beautifully lit. I think perhaps that it’s a…
When I saw Crystal Skull’s theater release the motorcycle chase through Marshall College got lots of laughs and even applause. The dodges and misdirects are energetic. The humor from the setting, like the Jock punching Mutt into a Greaser gang or the library students or the Blues Brothers-esque protest, feel like…
And a rotten apple is half good. It’s still rotten lol.
Absolutely, the “Starts fine, takes strange turn mid-movie” is pretty accurate for the movie. It feels like the script never had an ending and they were ad-libbing their way through it. I am largely forgiving of a lot of ills, but I will say that infamous jungle-jeep-monkey sequence leaves a very sour taste in my…
gunn kind of verifying the exact thing i was worried about - he should be able to delegate someone a second season of peacemaker at the same time he’s making superman, or better yet have delegated superman as well.
I love me Steve Ditko. Him and Spider-Man is to me probably the most perfect pairing of artist and character, frankly better to me than any of Kirby’s 60s Marvel work (yes, including Fantastic Four; I just think Kirby was stretched a little thin between all the books he was doing and it wasn’t until he got really…
