When I read things like “Its sincerely wanting to divest in patriarchy and any other social construct that cultivates, maintains and protects hierarchy,” I get the feeling that the author assume that people can just flip a switch and say “I’m not going to do this anymore.”

You did an exceptionally poor job of reading my comment. I should leave it alone but here are some points:

I disagree with the notion that a judge should be recalled over a sentence the public disagrees with. Actually, I disagree with the notion that judge should be an elected position at all. But I acknowledge that in the system we have, you have the right to campaign for a judge’s recall (or against his next reelection

So why do expect automatic convictions without any hard evidence? That’s not how trials work. It’s not anybody else’s fault that alleged victims don’t follow the right protocol or the right steps to make a conviction easier. You can’t change the legal system to accommodate them.

Okay, so this is going to be a very unpopular opinion, but although I think that Judge Persky’s sentencing was repulsive and any chief judge worth their salt should assign him only to commercial contracts cases or something similar in the future, I’m not sure that he should have been convicted of judicial misconduct.
