Korea is still seriously regressive when it comes to race: mistreatment of poor minorities from other parts of Asia is common, and certain skin colors are frowned upon here as well (peach skin is actually a marriage prerequisite for some people here). I think the ideal version of the show would skew towards the silly but with character development, but the pilot doesn't have enough confidence to reconcile the two faces. The last eight minutes definitely show a lot of promise, though.
